Your home looks so cozy and inviting. Perfect for your family. I think making a house a home is the people and love that is in it. If you are taking pride in what you have by keeping it clean and picked up, it should not matter what type of flooring is in the home. Be grateful for what you have and please ignore the negative comments of others. I have noticed that when people make comments likes that, it is jealous that prompts it. My home is not the largest or decorated perfectly but I am so grateful for what the Lord has blessed me with.

I have all hardwood and tile floors in my house, but I do have a large area rug in the living room and that is my favorite room to hang out in. There is something about carpet that is so luxurious. I have, however, found that with some work you can make anything do. Your home is beautiful, just enjoy it and your family, whatever you have.

Anyone who thinks your carpet is dated doesn’t have children and need carpeting... We redid our floors and regretted it then ended up putting it back in bedrooms. We replaced all of our main level flooring (kitchen,dining room,entrance hall,living room,mud room, and bathroom) with luxury vinyl plank in early 2020 and it’s wonderful. Dog prints and just track in general so easy to take care of. It look like real wood. It cost about $8000 .We really love it!

An idea for Christmas lights could be up lights. They can be switched from white to a color by putting a film on the top and your house could be lite up with Christmas colors! I love trying new recipes! Looks delicious 😋

Crystal, you can always put icicle lights on the railing of your deck. I put the colored ones on my deck and they look really beautiful from the parking lot. I can’t see them from my condo living room, but when I look out the small bedroom window, I can see them and I love it. I think I paid $10 a box for mine at Lowe’s. I used the white ones at first, but wanted the colored lights instead.

We put in luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout our house last year and I love it! Purchased it from Costco and then had it installed by a friend of my son in laws! It was not nearly as expensive as hardwoods and I absolutely love it! I do desperately need area rugs tho because I miss the coziness of carpet! That’s this years project lol

I love how you make sure you place everything in your home that makes you happy. I live in Florida where the majority of the floors are tile only bedrooms have carpet. I like your carpet shampoo cleaner. I lived in Illinois growing up and would have loved carpet the floors got so cold 🥶. Your carpet is the best color for not showing dirt. You have to put lights on your back deck, you’ll love it and the kids will really love it at supper time . Also I put some greenery above my sink this year too, I put a small string of lights in with it. I just love it in the evenings coming into the kitchen and the soft glow in the window and how it flows down onto the counter. Love your house it’s beautiful for Christmas.

Mike Mulligan is a classic children's book and has been around for years. A great book. Of course, anything by Bevwrly Cleary is great. Our daughter is 49 and had all of her books when she was little . At our house, every Christmas Eve our kids got to open new pajamas and a book. 😊🎄

Leave your Keurig and that cute cup hanger you use in it's usual place. But, set a cocoa "topping off" station with the sign near the counter where the bar stools are, marshmellow, stir sticks, chocolate chips etc.. That way if more than 1 wee one wants cocoa they can have room to take their time and not block the stove area.
