crazy to think that people born in 2006 are now 18 years old. at that time i played games in LAN parties on weekends and played BF1942, Driver, NFS Underground 1 and 2, and GTA San Andreas at home. it honestly doesn't feel like so much time has passed!

Dude it was magical. 1999 the first time online in CS with that slow ass modem. Finding ppl all over the world through AOL messenger. The way I can describe is that the internet felt like a small microcosm. Today it’s like being in public and trampled by ppl. It doesn’t feel as private anymore. Back then you could also search stuff without getting the craziest viruses right a way. It was all a bit more moderate and less overwhelming.

I might have been crazy but I had spent 2 years playing 1.3 with Pod Bot until my family got the internet in 2004. Definitely spent way too much time watching bots camp around cs_italy until a round came to its end...

Oh I remember that with CS:CZ before I had good internet. I'd spend so much time trying to pass those offline challenges using obscure guns and then have to "win" the round and put my hope on bots. It was so many aggravating hours of play.

oh man I remember the nights at a friend's house cause he was the first one with a PC good enough and had AOL, then first to get cable internet to play this. I'd go to his house to hang out, wait for him to go to bed then I'd stay up all night playing on his PC. finally I found a server my PC got like 300 ping in it, but people let me play and I played that same dang de_dust map over and over cause it was the only smooth server I could play in and not get booted on my 56k net lol
