Thanks for watching guys, this is kind of a tag-along to the 4 levels of positioning video that doesn't always outline everything in quite the same way. This is a lot of stuff I've had out in other videos but I figured it was relevant to have it all together inside of one and if you want the specifics you can look at the individual videos where I outline peek unpeeking, isolating angles using terrain, and off angles. Hey voo can you do a video series on what makes certain pros’s play styles stick out and I’d love to see video explaining why liquid sucks now. I think it would be a perfect example of aim vs game sense as I’ve always thought of liquid for having the best aim in NA.

I was going through a slump and I felt that my aim was fine but I kept doing bad in games, turns out my positioning was pretty bad. I was usually taking disadvantaged fights which made me feel like I was worse than I actually was. Just goes to show how positioning is just as important as aim

@jmw8403

Most people know that positioning is just as important as aim. I actually think the most common mistake people make is thinking positioning is way more important than aim. But aim is also important, something many players forget. Most people when they are playing poorly and dying too often, they instantly think that it's their positioning that is bad, but sometimes it is their aim. This stands true for players in all skill levels.

Your last point about comms and how it helps others play off you is so important. This part is overlooked by almost all gamers. Games are so easy with methodical comms. Most times you die once at a high level, its because you didn't have the information you needed or you got outplayed 50/50. Reducing deaths by good info massively changes the game.

Just because you get kills from a certain spot doesn't nececarily make it a great position. When you get into higher ranks you may start to find some positions that was working out from before not being effective at all anymore. You could compare it to making a stupid play and getting a free kill from it doesn't make it a good/correct play and you'll get punished when facing better opposition (:

@@TotteThorsen oh for sure. i've been all over the place. from low silver to even MG or MGE. i'm not a pro by any means, but i've definitely experienced this. this also happens in other games like Siege, where I'm plat, and my RL friends are silver. if i get too comfortable in silver, i get stomped when i go back to plat.

It is a simple concept yet very important since it's the basic of your positionning. Here are the ideas : 1) hold/peek where the enemy could be, 1 angle at a time and be covered from the others. If you are exposed to others, there is a chance that he could peek you there, justd by having that chance puts you in disadvantage. You want to fight 1 enemy at a time 2) You want to hold when they can push you, wether or not you are moving. You have the advantage by holding an off angle ( the enemy clears something else while crossing your crosshair) or by peeking unpeeking to catch him off guard. 3) To have the advantage when peeking, you need to have your crosshair on the enemy's head at the end of your peek, which is difficult and sometimes impossible ( since they play off angles) and therefore you can use your utility to avoid getting caught off guard and fuck them

When im solo queing in silver and tell my teammates what im doing they say, "No one asked", so i don't talk to my teammates anymore. Either that or my team doesn't have a mic which is like 90% of the time
@nopatterns5837
@nopatterns5837 4 жыл бұрын
What region are you in? As some who placed in Silver EU with all the rooskies, my experience wasn't like this at all. Most people have mics, pretty much mandatory for PC gamers. Sounds like you are shifting blame for your losses which isn't going to help you improve. I feed my random team information whether they like it or not, in fact I have my team muted quite often because some people are overbearing and I can't hear the game. I unmute them when I think they might give me useful information, then mute them again in a clutch. Some times people don't listen, that's normal, welcome to most levels of matchmaking. But if you stop trying then instead of 90% of the time, it's 100% of the time that you are at a disadvantage. The mini-map does tons of communication for you. When you see a teammate die that was solo holding B for instance, rotate and tell the rest of your team they are pushing B. If your team won't listen to you say "let's go B" or "A short" that's fine too. Play near the bigger group of your teammates as an entry or refragger (if you really are better than silver then you will beat the other team in aim duels most of the time) or if you think your game sense is good enough, lurk, push short when your team is pushing long etc.
@womato
@womato 4 жыл бұрын
@@nopatterns5837 I'm NA and it's very different when I play. Almost every game I solo que, there's around 1-2 people who have a mic. This is why I stopped solo queing. I don't play without a friend. Also, I've never lost a game with a full team with mics. In general I feel like they need to rework matchmaking. Most of my games just depend on who doesn't have the most new players. Then when I see higher rank gameplay, everyone has a mic. Everyone is coumicating, no one is toxic, and they have good comms. Then there's people who just throw the game and don't even try playing with you. I say, "Let's try going B". Then there's that one guy who goes a and dies every round. And this is why I don't solo que anymore.
@nopatterns5837
@nopatterns5837 4 жыл бұрын
@@womato Yup but none of these are stopping you getting out of silver. Ofc you are going to win more when you have a full stack communicating and using strats vs a mixed team of solo Q, duos etc. The reality is if you can't climb out of low ranks without a stack, you aren't that good and you have to focus on yourself improvement. Plenty of people have solo'd to global and they are the player's that really deserve the rank vs a boosted global that can't aim and got there through stacking.

@@nopatterns5837 But not everyone has global skills and can carry a team of bots out of silver. I've been N4 and now down to S4 and Silver 4 is harder because of the inconsistency. Nova matches tend to have a lot more people focused on playing seriously so the teams are more consistent. Silver matches are 30% serious players, 30% smurfs and 40% bots and griefers so it's just lucky dip who you get. I played a game today with two former DMG/MGE's who are now S4 trying to rank up again but said the same thing. Solo queuing in silver is a dead end street.

OFF UR TEAMMATE TOGETHER ! what HARDLY EVER happens.(hiding behind an object and only peak when ur teammate makes contact)not just peak first and die.

You can get out of silver if you practise mechanics and watch guides about game sense and peeking. I've seen silvers with decent raw aim mechanics, but their crosshair placement and movement were very bad costing them many rounds. To increase your chance of winning, you can also learn bomb plant spots to set yourself up for easy 1v3 clutches like planting for a main on cache or planting at the right side of the double box at inferno a site when you come from short/aps. From there on you can go to short/aps and have the easiest afterplant of your life.

Im in same situation like you cant talk bec i have my kids with me my only time to play when they asleep and i cant talk because i dont want them to wake up of the noise im in master elite rank. Dont blame others of your weakness. I adjust my gameplay whoever i play with if my teams are noobs i just let them go first and be a bait.if you want to rank up in solo que be sure you are ready to carry but to blame others bec you cant talk and noob teammate is BS. Pathway to improvement is first admit you are not good enough and learned

Tizianoh you can play wingman with no mic, have fun and rank up easily, it is a lot of fun, I just got to global in wingman after 60 wins, and the people playing wingman are always super nice to each other compared to mm where some people are super toxic

Same exact thing but it’s my brothers and they talk so loud and it’s just chaos so if I open my mic no one will hear me so I try to type with keyboard and my friends wich were faceit level 9 quit the game and I’m too noob for them so I have to solo que with Indians for some reason and I swear I’m in the top leaderboard all the time I always get 20+ kills with 4 deaths my aim is ok for someone with 40 hours in csgo. My team always full rush a site with bad weapons and no utility and they all die then I’m left to clutch a 1v8 (casual mm) and I get like 5 kills before I’m 1hp and die then they say that I’m stupid ffs.

"positions aren't strong unless your teammates are properly playing around them" well this video doesn't help silvers lmao Edit: I should mention that I thought this was a great video, jokes aside I did actually learn a few things. But a lot of it is stuff I already knew. I guess there must be some other problem with my gameplay

If you are silver your problem is aim and movement

@@Gibbysaurio 1v1 me then, aim is not a problem. Movement, possibly, but I don't think so. I'm just not good enough to carry 1v5 every game. I win a lot more than I lose but it's not enough

CoolJ of course aim is part of thr problem, if you have good aim you can just carry yourself out of silver easily. You might have better aim than silver average, but you would still loose a 1v1 vs anybody that is somewhat half-decent rank(mge and higher)
