Is there a specific reason as to why you used the quadratic method in the second question but not in the others?

Once you have an x squared term in your equation you have to solve it as a quadratic.

Hi Sir, why am confused, why you didnt add the -6 to 15 like you did in the other question ?
@CSECMathematics6 жыл бұрын
Oh...you could have. On the left hand side you would end up with 9. When you move it to the right hand side it will become -9. Then 18 - 9 = 9.

Why didn't he simplify the fractions? Is it supposed to be that way? And If you don't will you loose marks?

hey why did u put a minus sign by 15p
@CSECMathematics7 жыл бұрын
If its the June 1993 paper I subtracted 15p from both sides of the equation. So on the left side of the equal sign we have to put -15p and on the right hand side of the equation we have to put -15p as well. But on the right hand side this will be 15p - 15p = 0 (so the 15p disappears from the right hand side of the equation and you end up with 15p on the left hand side). OR some teachers tell you move the 15p to the left hand side of the equation and it becomes -15p. Hope that helps.
