The Terrorists have a much harder job of pushing therefore the game balances their weapons to be better and cheaper because the CTs have an inherit map advantage. Defending is easier than attacking. Also it's just a game, gameplay > realism.

AJHedges thats the charging handle. It puts the bullets from the magazine into the chamber. Thats why the character pulls it back when you empty a whole magazine. It can also be pulled to eject a bullet thats stuck in the chamber and jams the rifle.

I know I'ma year late to this, but this is true, there are two versions of the FAMAS which are featured in game as well as having been used in real life, the FAMAS F1 is the one with the straight 25 round magazine which was specifically intended to be used by the French in the FAMAS F1, however, the curved magazine is the NATO standard you see in weapons like the AR-15s (M4A1 and such), the G2 version of the FAMAS is the one used in game, and thus it uses the 30 round magazines, it seems like a bizarre oversight, it's been a while since I've played CS:GO so this may be a terrible idea, but I feel like it would be best if the FAMAS was designed around it's real life counterpart, the real-life FAMAS fires in full auto at ~1000 rounds per minute (the G2 often has a faster rate of fire), whereas in game it fires at 666 in automatic and 800 in burst, where it would make more sense to have it so that both fire at 1000 rounds a minute, fire fully automatic for the equivalent of a shotgun and the cost of a magazine going in 2 seconds, or use the burst, with better recoil control and accuracy, but a limit of 3 shots and a delay between each.

Remember that the weakness of the Galil, that being you can’t headshot kill an opponent in one shot, might be mitigated by the CTs decisions. If it is a rifle round, and the CTs know that the Ts have the money to buy AKs, they might opt to exclude a helmet. In this scenario, the Galil would perform just as well as the AK in terms of headshot damage.

I remember when playing CS:CZ with my friends at LAN party back then, I always use FAMAS no matter how much money i have. FAMAS was a monster at close or long range encounters. short range, just use full auto and spray like crazy. long range, use burst mode as the burst mode back then is extremely accurate and will easily get you a headshot. And for galil, I rather think of it as poor man's AK 47.

The Galil AR was my first favorite weapon I used. I really preffered how they were in old Counter Strike games - Galil had same power as M4, more ammo (35), but was less accurate than M4 and no silencer. While with Famas you could single-shot headshot (so it was more powerful than any other full-auto 5.56 weapons in the game), it was less accurate than m4 (probably better than AK), it's recoil was huge and it had only 25 bullets. But it was a quite nice weapon for close to mid-range combat because of it's power

I like to use the burst fire mode on the FAMAS because when you die with it (which you know you will because it's on burst fire) your team mate will pick it up to use and will try to mow down like three enemies he had the drop on, only to realize the gun is still in burst fire mode and begin raging as he only slightly damages one enemy and they turn and swiss-cheese-ify him.

If you're new to CS or just not very good, M4's are better since their Spray patterns aren't too difficult, if you have more skill, around the rank of GN, the AK might be better due to it's damage.

no galil isnt better, galill shoots sideways lol thats terrible if you desperately need a kill, with famas maybe try onetaping really quick it has great accuracy you can tap way more quicker than with all other guns, i mean spray with singular bullets, its crazy technique if done correctly, not many know you can fire quickly with famas and still get accuracy, one day i was really surprised when i jokingly increased shooting speed and still was accurate. The Galil's been my favorite rifle since 1.6 (it's even better in CS:GO). It's a mix of the design, the sound, the accuracy and the spray pattern that feel just right to me. As I always tell my teammates, I'd rather land 2 quick, successive headshots with a Galil than no shots at all with an AK

I remember using the Famas a lot in 1.6, always with the burst. Would usually get people with one or two bursts. But that was when I was actually good at the game. And also a child/teenager. I'm terribad now. Still, Famas was lots of fun.

I loved 1.6 Galil. It was less accurate tap shotter than AK, but still reasonable good and you could oneshot helmet at close range, so it worked well as cheap alternative. Famas was deadly accurate on burst settings, but you could do short burst yourself to have basically same without restricting yourself. In GO is Famas close to what it used to be, but Galil is sadly very different weapon and playstyle changed. Its ok weapon, but i cant forget how fun it was playing old one.

With proper recoil control, FAMAS burst mode can actually be really powerful. It's riskier as it makes the rifle semi-automatic, so you have to tap-fire more, but it makes getting a headshot-bodyshot or headshot-headshot combo much easier.
