With all the work they've put into keeping it up to date, I wonder if they're ever going to bother giving it a retexturing like they've been doing with their other maps. Train and Nuke desperately needed it since they were mostly unchanged since Source, and Dust and Inferno were available at launch and got almost no visual changes. But all this map is still missing is a resolution bump.

Something I love about cs and valve, they add little things to maps whenever extreme things happen in pro, they also add little things which make maps more balance and gives more options, this is why cs is one of/ the best FPS competitive games, other games (fortnite and league) their company actually ‘loves’ their pros but fuck up with casual vs pro, valve knows there aren’t anymore casual, well, to a point where they just update maps for the pros.

Thank you for validating my childhood Philip. I can't tell you how many hours I spent scrimming in 1.6 on cpl_strike, cpl_mill, and cpl_fire. Our server name was The [G] Spot (lol I know, but I was a teenager okay?) and our tag was simply [G]. Man I miss those days, and still keep in contact with all the guys I've played with. Playing hours upon hours inside deathmatch and gun games to try to master as many weapons as I could. I remember I played awp_map for a WHOLE month straight, and by the time I finished I was able to noscope people 7/10 times across the entire map lol. Just an old fart reminiscing now :D

Could watch pros play on Mirage forever, such a great map with quick rotations and so many ways for both sides between bombsites. Funny how little they actually changed from the source version, shows the creator was very talented and getting a map right saves countless little changes in the future.

Definitly one of the maps from wich i love the look of, there's so much life to it and little stories everywhere and still one of the best competitive maps out there for its layout, timings and vast range of possibilities. Great video. These are some of my favorites on the 3kliks channel. Even if this one wasn’t as mind blowing as the overpass and cobble ones because the changes are nowhere near as dramatic, but it’s still very interesting to learn about the differences the maps have gone through nonetheless. Similarly to how you said that it’s a small world we live in because the maker of Lite and Seasoned remade Mirage into CS:GO, I heard the third background music and thought it was insanely similar to one I’ve heard of a small video of a small video named called Microvolts (with a VERY small playerbase around the thousands). The KZbinr in question used a song by MachinimaSounds called “Sunlight” which at some parts sounded EXACTLY like the background music you used. So either one took inspiration from the other, stole it from the other (unless David used machinima’s since I’m pretty sure that it’s copyright free) or it’s a coincidence (or I’ve gone crazy). Or, most likely in my opinion they used the same template for the beat and background notes. Anyway, I’ve heard that music in the background music in multiple videos made by you and it has always bugged me out so much that I KNOW I’ve heard it before, but can’t put my finger on it, until now. Now I’ve just gotta hope that David can clarify the situation and reply to the comment I posted. Though he probably won’t since he doesn’t seem to reply to comments at all. Oh well, I finally got that of my mind. And by the way, when you zoomed in on that hole in the wall in B apartments at the very end an Xbox add that zoomed in on the Xbox logo appeared right after the video, making the transition super cool. It really took me by surprise.

I have played this game on and off for 10+ years now and I actually only remember very few things from the early days lol. One of them being the ability to inspect the weapons since day 1, which sparked the conversation that Valve will allow custom skins to the game (who knew it would be real money skins instead haha)
