I know that Gary Dourdan couldn't stay, because he had many big troubles on his personal life at that time, but i still thinking they didn't need to kill the character. His character could left for any stupid reason, and that's it. But when you kill a character, he never can comeback, even for a cameo or something. When you see a finale like immortality, and you can't see Nick and Warrick again, that final don't have any sense. We all know that CSI is Grissom, Katherine, Warrick, Nick and Sarah. If a single one of them is out, there's no CSI.

Gavriel you have to understand why most of them chose to leave when the show was still popular.when it gets too long on tv,rating starts to go down and the scripts starts to fuck up and they probably end up dragging the storyline to nowhere end.they should just stop in season 9 when most of the main actors left. And you can see in season 5 Dourdon was a little out of it and in season 8,he was pretty much acting with bloodshot puffy eyes and tired face most of the time.Its too bad he fucked with his own acting career because he was great.

Gabriel. I honestly believe that those producers killed off Warrick Brown's character out of spite: Gary Dourdan had some contract negotiations problems with the executives of the network so he chose to leave the show. You are absolutely right, they could have chosen to let his character live but they wanted to make sure that he could never come back on the show!

That's absolutely right. I haven't watched the show in quite a few years, and I did not watch the last couple of Seasons. Once Grissom and Warrick we're gone, I had very little desire to watch anymore. Obviously, you guys in this conversation are way more up and up on all that behind the scenes stuff. I don't know the reasons why anyone left the show. But it should have ended much earlier than it did. They should have gone out on a high note. Stew, if any, TV programs ever reached such perfection in those first nine seasons.

This was when I stopped watching the show, I loved Warrick. When Stella left NY, I also dropped out of watching that because every scene with Sela Ward was so cringe to me for some reason. I finished Miami though 🔥

The one time we see the emotionally detached Grissom get emotional. Warrick must have certainty been someone special to him if something like his death could bring it out of him. Of course,if something happened to Sara,his love,like it almost did when she was kidnapped and lost in the desert then maybe that would've done it too. Of course while pretty much all of the other CSI crew had had their share of near deaths,i.e.,the aforementioned event with Sara,Nick's kidnapping and being buried alive,Jim Brass getting nearly mortally shot,Greg getting the tar beat out of him by that gang,and also having been nearly killed in the lab explosion before that,if anything had happened to any of his CSIs before this,than I'm sure it would have brought out emotions in Grissom as well. He loved and regarded all of his CSIs deeply.

i remember when i watched this episode with my mom and we cried for like hours, i'm actually crying right now, i have seen this show since i have memory (thx mom for let me see it even when i was just a little kid), since 8 years she is no longer with me and i always watch the oldest seasons to remember her and all the afternoons we spend watching it, also i'm waiting to see grissom again in the reboot, so excited

Wow, your story is so simillar to mine! I also used to watch this with my mom when i was a kid and both her and me cried as well. My mom passed away in 2003 when i was 12 years old. I never forget the moments i had with my mom watching this show on tv as mom and son. I'm looking forward to the new stuff that comes out and i'll be happy that Grissom is back, but oviously it will never be the same.

So true. One of them in fact was George Eads. He played a paramedic for about 6 episodes and the producers wanted him to stay because he was getting popular. He said no because he got another role for a new series: CSI. So in grand and memorable fashion, Eads character was killed off on ER. It was a gut wrenching episode.

His mom later told me that when he was shot, my nephew belt it out, that bastard shot Warrick! To this day, it is one of the most sad scenes that ever happened in that show.

Who is the woman sitting next to Ecklie in 0:15 I wonder...? The one with the bangs and straight dark hair. She looks like that one actress from Criminal Minds. Also, I am currently watching CSI for the first time since I enjoyed playing the PC games. I spoiled myself and read early on that Warrick dies. But what is a good final season to consider for the finale where they are all still alive ? What season is the last GOOD CSI season ? Because I am so sad and annoyed that they killed Warrick off. I loved his character and I want him to still be alive in my imagination. Plus with what everyone else has commented, when the main cast : Grissom, Catherine, Warrick, Nick, Sara, and Greg - something bad happens to them or they leave, it just isn't CSI anymore. They should have ended the series sooner and make a sequel or another CSI series with a newer cast...

And than she left and they needed somebody to take over Mia's job and that's when Wendy came into play. So technically she took over for Mia not Greg because Greg was already a CSI when Wendy came into the picture.

CSI main cast (not their real names) - 1) Gil Grissom, 2) Catherine Willows, 3) Nick Stokes, 4) Warrick, 5) Sara Sidle, 6) Greg (former DNA lab tech), 7) Coroner Dr ..., 8) Jim Brass (detective) 9) Archie (sound and electronic expert), 10) David Hodges, 11) David Philips (coroner team), 12) Mia (DNA Lab expert), 13) one lady expert with animals... entomologist (if i got it right), 14) Ecklie CSI Chief 15) Vartann (detective) 16) Sophia (formerly CSI, then detective) And the list is endless ... CSI is a huge success
