Back in the day when Frey and Henley were just starting out they lived with him on LA. They would be up stairs and Mr. Brown would be downstairs on the piano working on writing a song. He would play the same phrase over and over while trying to fit a vocal. In an interview I saw with them they credit him with their learning how to craft a song . Just think of all the people he and they have touched through music over all these years. I hope all have a happy and healthy day. Cheers!!

It’s not poor sound, it’s poor mic technique. As a touring engineer (35 years), it always amazes me when some old legends get on stage, it just does not seem to bother them weather they are on the mic or not, they are just to engrossed in the song. He could probably hear himself enough in the monitor, it looks like a small club. You can only turn a mic up so much before you run into problems. I’ve been at the mixing desk many times when an artist of his status has walked on stage. Looking at how he was singing, it sounded fine to me.
