CSL Wing Chun Linking and deinking layers with Momentum Control

In this video Alan shows how linking and delinking in CSL Wing Chun has many layers. Also, the connect to momentum handling and live flow in Chi Sao. This is a long clip, but it has lots of information.
CORRECTION - When I was talking about Wing Chun compared to Tai Ji, I was talking about the general training platforms i.e. Chi Sao and Push hands. So, when I said Wing Chun is a striking art and Tai Ji is not, I was talking about the platform not the art. Of course, Tai Ji has very good striking. My point as Chi Sai is a short bridge striking platform where we do take balance, but we must not forget about the striking.

What do you mean? I am always slightly cooperative in these clips. My students learn via the controlled pressure and that allows them to see what they miss or repeat.

Thanks for replyin! More just curious, as a fan of your work, about what your style looks like between more evenly matched people. The training mode you've got looks really well focused and steady but most of the rolling in the videos looks pretty one-sided. And, you've explained that it can look like your students are holding back because you're disrupting their balance but I still wonder whether it's still a factor that they, consciously or not, limit some of what they're doing out of respect for you as the teacher-like clinching the back of the head, matching force with striking, pushing, and pulling.. (I might be projecting a bit on this point, just know from experience that it can take a lot of encouraging and clarifying to overcome that issue.) Anyway, Cheers Alan.

To be honest it looks the same. As my students give me a harder time, as they know our skills and defending structure is a key goal. They don't do things like clinching the back of the head as it leaves them very open to body strikes. They are trying to match force. I understand it is hard to see or understand if you have not experienced it.

Hi Alan at 8:06, how do you 'stretch' your opponent? Do you pull his neck and body in opposing directions? Seems like a different way from how I was taught in bjj where body weight was used.

You stretch by pulling their muscles open.
