In this video I look at how to work CST Microwave Studio. Best viewed at 1080p on fast connections. It's more intended for students towards the end of their undergraduate / beginning of postgraduate studies, as a favour to my research supervisor for some of his other students.
I haven't taken any time to edit this one so I must apologise for poor sound and persistent hard-drive error messages. My computer has been giving me trouble. There are also fairly boring parts, long pauses, or places where I've had to blow my nose. Sorry about that. I just recorded it in one take and uploaded in order to get the info to the guys who needed it as soon as possible.
I hope that it can be helpful for others as well.

Yes, CST 2014. I hadn't yet updated to CST 2015 when I recorded the video, but it's mostly similar.

Hello Tharun, You should be able to pick up from the video how to operate CST in general. From there, you'd need to get a good understanding of your antenna geometry from the literature, and then build it in CST!

Either type the name of the parameter when you create the model element, or click on the parameter list and start typing.

shama khan Ah okay. This varies from edition to edition. I think the default is on the bottom but I moved it to the side. If it's not there I'm not sure what to do - I don't have access to CST directly anymore, but I'd encourage you to reach out to CST support. They are excellent at providing help.

Giovanni Nerone, I have only occasional access to CST these days as my job function has changed, but stripline is easy enough - make a board with copper above and below, then embed copper traces in the middle of the board. Parameterise everything!

If you're able to reproduce the SIW as I've done in this video, and you understand what stripline is, you really should be able to adapt. I'm sorry - like I said, I likely won't be able to do another video like this anytime soon. Figuring it out for yourself will be a good learning experience though.
