Thank You. Yes, it is the oldest CST channel on KZbin. I started my CST KZbin channel 7 years ago. Some videos are made in 2010 versions. But my recent videos are based on CST 2016/2017 versions.

Also how did you get Lf = 31.5 and Wf= 8.7 ??? My parameters are: fr=24GHz, L = 3.43mm and W = 4.253 mm . Would you please kindly help me? thanks

Hi tensorbundle, how did you calculate the values for Fi and Gpf? is there an equation? p.s. your videos are great. they're a huge help

Thanks for the videos! My questions: (1) Why was Nickel used as a material for creating empty space? (2) How were the dimensions of the transmission line (Wf, Lf, Fi, and Gpf) obtained?

Nassima Tounsi those dimensions are probably mentioned in the research paper he is following. They are not standard dimensions. You choose dimensions according to our need.

once any portion is subtracted using different material (nickel in this case) how to remove this portion (go back to previous state meaning no subtracted part) in case it is needed due to some mistake.

These tutorials are excellent, thanks very much for uploading! Is there any way you could talk me through how you would go about designing a Vilvaldi antenna in CST? I've watched all your tutorials, but can't find anything on the Vilvaldi antenna which seems a bit more complicated!

Basically Lf does not matter. Gpf also doesn't matter much, mostly dependent of PCB DRC rules of minimum spacing. Usually, 0.5mm-08.mm is a reasonable range for Gpf. What matters are Fi and Wf. Fi controls the input impedance and Wf controls the characteristic impedance of microstrip line. You can calculate Wf and Fi from the formula mentioned in Chapter 14 of CA Balanis' book Antenna theory and design.

Hello everyone.I try to design a microstrip antenna with feed line in cst.I use the equations form Balanis Antenna Theroy to find the dimensions for f=2.4GHz h=1.6 εr=4.3(material FR-4) and I get W=38.37mm L=29.76mm but I dont get a resonance frequency at 2.4GHz as I wanted.What else should I check?Thanks in advance

I checked your antenna. It has no inset feed cut for input impedance matching to 50 Ohm microstrip line. Hence most of the incident power was getting reflected and so no resonance at 2.4GHz. I attached the correct version. Check that

of course, there is a specific formula. It's all about impedance matching. Since the input impedance of patch is usually much greater than the 50 ohm microstrip line , we need to move toward the centre of patch because the more we move toward centre, impedance of patch reduces and at a particular location (let's say at Fi) the impedance of patch equals to 50 ohm. That location Fi is our desired dimension. There is an equation to find out Fi. Would you please visit FB group CollabEEE(link in description).
