As others have said and I agree -- consistently the best railroad videos anywhere. Superb cinematography, editing, scoring.

Here you go again-blessing my socks off. The variety of locales, weather (love the fog shots), different times of day (sun angles), seasons, various camera angles and all those great captions with great information. I noticed some of the footage is recent as you caught CSX’s Western Maryland heritage unit BEAUTIFUL. (and you avoided hitting those cottonwoods)😂 I know these videos take a lot of time but you are making many of us very happy!

Ill always remember that day in 1992 when the Challenger was resting on the outskirts of cincinnati. My heart was pounding as that run to st. Louis pointed west and much of that first 60 miles traversed alongside US 50 into Indiana. That chase was thrilling!!

A bunch of us chased the challenger across the Indiana sub from Nebraska to big tunnel! I’ll have a shot at Nebraska on the high bridge there in the upcoming “east end” of the Indiana sub!

Great video! I will say that technically the Indiana Subdivision ends in Washington, IN so only the last few miles are still used through Washington. Then it’s the Illinois Subdivision from Washington to Vincennes, IN. Still sees an almost daily local (sometimes 6 days a week) service to an industry track and then back to Vincennes.

I prefer my red/white /black WM paint on F7s, but those are just memories now. Re. the Reno gang, also some of them were hanged at the New Albany , Ind. jail. Also to note, most of the stolen gold coins have never been found. A few were found at the gangs relatives farms. The New Albany hangings is quite a story, even evolving into a crisis with Canada/Great Britain. Locals have been searching for the gold ever since.

Great Video. Not sure if you know but CSX has been in the last 2 to 3 months replacing the Signals & switches between West Mitchell & Seymour Indiana. Going to be intersting if CSX replaces them between Washington & Mitchell.
@AcmeCinematography3 ай бұрын
Yup. Glad to see the new signals. The old ones were awesome but so rusted they were unsafe to work on let alone keep functional. I love the old signals but their time was up and glad CSX is investing in new signals for the future. Doubt they do anything west of Mitchell for new signals. To Shoals is quasi maintained and a few signals still let up I think but until US Gypsum figures out how to load containers (they have enough volume to make it work) the line will remain dormant west of Mitchell.

Follow the water sheds in Indiana. Many Indian campments and hunting camps. Along the rivers. Main travel ways in 1700’s and older. The Green river meets the Ohio by Henderson Ky. Will take you all the way to Lexington Kentucky. South side. Lincoln county is the beginning of the water shed. Later.

Im just curious what is the website where you get your background music from I don't remember if I asked you that in the past
@AcmeCinematography3 ай бұрын
We use licensed music :). … BUT the royal pain in the wazoo to keep everything playing makes me hesitant to recommend it. It’s perfect but we had to remove the videos for over a year awaiting approvals and dealing with copyright strikes even though was properly licensed. Just the amount of effort makes dealing with them quite a hassle. Thanks !
@natgass81023 ай бұрын
your videos are in another class the cinematography looks like it’s a big budget movie production, the only thing that would elevate it even more wolves some narration and commentary which I know you’re doing with graphics but I think your voice would be better! thanks
@AcmeCinematography3 ай бұрын
Thanks. Maybe if we had the voice of James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman!!😂❤️. We prefer no narration. This way can play as background music :)

37:49 those signals are messed up turns from red train in the block to green ?
@AcmeCinematography3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure ! They are replacing the signals on the line with something more modern :/
@CSXNSTrainVideos3 ай бұрын
Not messed up, this is how they were intended to work. The entirety of the CPLs on the Indiana Subdivision are APB. Signal switching from red to green simply indicates that the block the train just passed through is clear. Many of the other signals on the line function this way, truly shows how the B&O infrastructure was built to last.
@willb.3833 ай бұрын
That’s how they work. The block doesn’t become electrically active until a train occupies it. So when the train here crosses into the empty block, the signal goes red to alert the signal ahead of it (which would only be on if occupied) When the train leaves the block it was exiting that block is now technically clear. The reason the signal wasn’t on already is because there wasn’t another train in that block already. So, now that there is one in the new block, a train in the next block would get a red (same as when this train straddled the blocks)
@WesleyEast-RRfan3 ай бұрын
I have a question, when do you think ALL the old signals will be gone
@AcmeCinematography3 ай бұрын
A long time. Still lots from north Vernon to Cincinnati and those were supposed to have been removed years ago allegedly. They are just replacing the absolute necessary ones for operation. East of north Vernon they left in the old ones in places. Not sure why
@mmi163 ай бұрын
Hired out on the B&O as an Operator in Washington, IN in 1965 - worked most all the operator positions between Storrs Jct. in Cincinnati and HN Cabin in E. Stl Louis. It is a shame how the division has been down graded by CSX.

Too bad that CSX has trashed the west end of this line.(The OD too!) We photoed trains on this line from Cincy to the Illinois line. This was pre CSX and right after the merger. Just look at the crappy condition those signals are in. You can see this line has a questionable future.
