I grew up and have lived along that line from philly all the way to the Delaware state line. I lived a block from the tracks in philly not far from the bridge over the Schuylkill until I was 14. B&O and Chessie painted locomotives. For the next 23 years I lived around the corner from Howard st tunnel. We called it mummies tunnel. Walked thru it and over the bridge across Darby creek many times. Used to ride the 11 trolley to work in Darby. For the last 20 years now I have lived not far from twin oaks. You have really nailed it buddy. It's like a trip down memory lane watching your video. Great job!

Bruce I always love coking to your open houses! Your layout is by far one of the best in this area! I’d love to come down sometime during one of your operating nights! Love that you keep everything up to date and on point!!!! We were going to do the Philly sub but, we stuck to “Rockdale” as it’s the part of Aston we are in. Can’t win them all lol THANKS for the video! Well done!!!! - Mark Dougherty

IF THAT'S the philly skyline which it is, isn't that the Schuykill river and not the Susquehanna river, not to be picky but I live in S Philly and it's flanked by the Delaware river to the east and the Schuykill river to the west, Susq. river is out by Pittsburg I believe, plus awesome layout !!! thanks for sharing !!!!!!!

Very well done layout. In the beginning of the vedio. You comment that the river was something else. Did you mean the Delaware River

Beautiful layout and the room aesthetics are great, especially the wide aisles. Glad to see an overall tour of the layout, so thank you for that. You mentioned that some of the Del Aire turnout controls have been in for 20-25 years. How many years have you been building this layout? Asking for a friend... 🙂

Thanks Mark for the nice comments. Been building this for 25 years.

Current conditions? I have never seen a prototype car like the Orange, Yellow, Brass and short black car in the video. I did not know the real roads have the same track cleaning requirements as a model railroad :)

Pretty funny. I talked about the cleaning train in the 2nd video FYI.

Was Appalachian railcar a CSX car shop when built, or has it always been a private company?
@brfriedm3 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, it has always been a private shop. This is easily its third owner.
