CT-P720WR Duel Tape Deck No Movement And Bad Mechanism - Belt Replacement And Fix | UK eBay Reseller

I got this Pioneer SX P720 Stereo System from a friend and the tape deck CT-P720WR wasn't working. The drive belts were perished and needed replacing and there was also a problem with the mechanism stopping it from rewinding.

V-belt is fine on mine. the engine starts, the gears start it starts, but it doesn't carry the tape, then it stops by itself.it goes back and forth in both directions for 3 seconds, then stops it doesn't spin, and things inside the cassette holder don't rotate in the same way on both sides, they can hardly be rotated by hand....can it be repapir easily? is it worth dealing with?

Sorry for the late reply. It's hard to tell what the problem could be with something like that without having the machine in front of me. It probably wouldn't be an easy problem to find or repair.

hi! it's the same for us. unfortunately, it turns on, starts, does not rotate the tape, and then stops. what could be wrong? help?

@@RetroElectronicRepair V-belt is fine on mine. it doesn't work though. it starts, the cog wheel turns, the tape doesn't!

It's hard to say what is wrong. They have so many moving parts, it took me hours to find the problem with my one.

@@RetroElectronicRepair I understand. I don't think the problem is a moving part, but an electrical problem. the spike is closed, it cannot be wound by hand on both sides. current can move something in it. but thanks!...if you think of anything, please write.
