See what’s worse is this new shop I went to, I won. A. Tourny twice and they don’t give in store credit, instead they give packs (selected by there own)… and I kept getting 30 packs back to back.. from the 60 packs… not one single hit, the person who has all the greening hitting second place with 6 packs somehow keeps getting hits back to back… he use to work or has a connection with the store and I’m confused how this came to be… now my friends finds it sus how the dude keeps getting hits..

Using X-ray sensitive film as a method to alert consumers to radiation exposure for Pokémon products is indeed a practical idea. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of how this could work, along with its advantages and considerations: Type of Film: The film should be sensitive to X-rays, similar to radiographic film used in medical imaging. It can be designed to change color or develop an image when exposed to radiation, indicating that a CT scan has occurred. Placement: The film can be incorporated into the packaging of Pokémon products, either as a label, a patch, or a card inserted within the packaging. It should be easily visible or accessible for inspection. Functionality: Exposure Detection: When a CT scan is performed, the X-ray radiation will expose the film, leading to a visible change. Depending on the design, the film might darken or show specific patterns, indicating that the product has been scanned. Visual Indicators: You could create a two-part system where one film indicates exposure levels and another provides a more intense alert (e.g., if a certain threshold is surpassed). Advantages Simple and Effective: X-ray sensitive film provides a straightforward, cost-effective way to visually indicate whether a product has been scanned. No Need for Power: Unlike electronic sensors, this film does not require batteries or electronic components, making it easier to implement and maintain. Immediate Feedback: Users can quickly assess if a product has been exposed to radiation simply by inspecting the film

So would people agree that the direct effect this will have is to cause a wider gap in price between the most valuable cards and the least? Charizards and the other rarest holo cards wil become exponentially more valuable because now anyone with the scanner or even those paying for the service can seek out those specific rare cards, and then selectively only open the packs they've already confirmed are the best ones... And offloading all and any other pack that simply doesn't contain, possibly even just THE MOST VALUABLE card!!! That's what seems like the next process to naturally evolve ;)

The only packs worth scanning are HEAVY Vintage loose packs because lets be honest, no one is sending a sealed vintage BB to these people, its 75$ to scan a single pack, BB's are TBD because they need multiple scans to get accurate data and it takes a lot more time to look through a BB, so scanning a BB through their website will probably be ultra expensive. Based on pull rates, the amount of money you would need to give to these people to find a modern chase, ~14 BB's, like a Moonbreon or Greninja would be astronomical, you would most likely be out way more money even after you sold the dud boxes to recoup your losses than if you just opened the product yourself to get the chase card. IMO this is all just fear mongering, there is no security if you send in ultra high ticket sealed products, and there is no profitability sending in modern products.

@@shatterpate1103 good points. I understand how pricy it is. But the technology and speed will only get better with time. This is the only company out there right now, but the idea is out there too. Other companies will probably pop up causing competition to drive down prices. As they scan more and more they will get better data on how to do this. It's concerning someone would even market this. hate to break it you you but that is not illegal. No matter how many lawyers they have will not change that fact. The good news is most people are not too bright and are panicking for no reason. There is zero profit to be made doing this hence why no one has done this for the last 50 years. That is why companies are willing to scan packs for people who are not very bright. If this was profitable they would not need to offer this service at all, they themselves would be buying up packs.

It actually won't effect the trade market much at all. I think it's a great idea! Imagine having a WOTC box and you can actually verify that card is inside? It makes it much more valuable and no guessing if it's inside! You still have to purchase the packs/cards.
@mariogorgees3489
@mariogorgees3489 3 ай бұрын
@@PrimordialTuna Then that just means the price of said booster box/packs are artificially inflated. If you can guarantee a box/pack has the highest valued card in a set inside of it then the price of it jumps up exponentially in proportion to the value of the card within it. That’s just going to ostracize people from getting into the game or collecting which is counter-intuitive to the whole point of playable TCG’s.

People need to use their brains for a second. This exact technology has been around since the 1970s. The reason it is not happening is because it makes ZERO financial sense to do this. Starting with the cost of the CT scanner ranging from 300,000 to 2 million. If they target the Pokemon vintage packs. They buy for example 1000 packs. How much time (aka money) would they need to waste buying them, making sure they are not resealed , scanning each one to see if they have a hit that is worth it? Than next they would need to dump 95% of the packs they bought on the open market and based on losing transaction/shipping fees alone they would be taking a 25% minimum loss on them. Not to mention the time it will take to sell and the downward pressure on the market causing them to be sold at an even greater loss. The few packs with hits they open going to grade a 10? What happens if none of they packs have hits. Which would be an absolute disaster financially. There is a reason people have not done this for 50 years. It's called Math.
@PokeStocked
@PokeStocked 3 ай бұрын
@@silverwolf6866 lol the original guy bought a CT scanner for $1500 and modified it to do this. Took a lot of modifications and testing to get it to work on cards. Other than base set they were scanning Evolving Skies which probably has a better return with Moonbreon and other alts. The fact that someone can scan packs and know exactly what's in there is not concerning at all? Costs them just electricity to do so. Financial incentive is there if you ask me. 🤷‍♂️
@silverwolf6866
@silverwolf6866 3 ай бұрын
@@PokeStocked Zero concern. You clearly did not do the math to understand how it will actually work in reality, not just in your mind. Even if the scanner is free the math does not work out. You will lose money. Do you think no one has thought of this for the last 50 years with the massive sports card market and only now since this person did a KZbin video on a Pokemon pack it now makes sense. You can't be serious. If you really still do not understand, please go ahead and buy a scanner and do this. Maybe once you start buying and selling packs/boxes losing huge amounts of money would you realize what everyone has known for the last 50 years.
@PokeStocked

@@silverwolf6866 lol doesn't make sense for someone to buy stuff at today's market and scan? Sure, I could probably agree with you on that. But there are plenty of people with collections they got for dirt cheap who can scan their packs to sell the lesser hits and keep the good ones. If the math doesn't make sense, why sell the service in the first place? 😅 You need to expand your thinking beyond someone buying stuff at market price today and scanning and reselling. Plenty of people out there willing to use and abuse this service for monetary gain.

@@PokeStocked You are going to pay shipping + insurance twice plus their fee of $65 to scan a single pack then sell it for the exact same price you could sell it for without wasting the time and money? I don't know what to say to this kind of logic. It's clear you won't listen to me. Maybe you will listen to the company you reference instead. The company that you are referencing directly said they are doing it as a case study and that: "The hourly rates to run the equipment wouldn't be worth someone scanning their packs even if we found a very rare card." . Yes plenty of people would love to abuse this to earn money. The fact that it has not happened for 50 years should give you a clue why it's not gonna happen.
