That's how molding works. They took a legit Mafex Spider-Man and made a mold of it. It will always be smaller because the plastic will shrink once it's cooled. That's why alot of bootlegs are smaller than their official counterparts.

This isn’t an issue with their DB KO’s you can even do parts swaps with the real ones. Maybe in this case they had to make a mould but the more popular thing these days is to either actually acquire the moulds or the files for them, that’s why we get so many high quality 1:1 KOs nowadays and it gives them the option to resize them as they wish.

I have the real Mafex, since I opened it the arm pops off fairly easy. The joint stuff doesn’t even keep it in. That’s a win for CT lol.

Okay, the CT toys can make a great Ultimate Spider-Man with a little bit of paint. It's a little strange that it's smaller, the other bootlegs on AliExpress we're actually taller than the original.

I have the Mafex Spider-man and CT Agent Venom, they are the same height which isn't accurate. The CT Spider-man likely scales perfect since he is about half inch shorter (as Peter would be next to Flash Thompson). Thanks for the imformative review! All I needed to know

I notice on all of the ct spiderman figures the chest black lining falls flat it just to light or not filled in black at all. Weird they would let that happen when the chest is going to be the first thing the eye is drawn to. What im trying to say is the ct figure even though its new has the paint of a paint worn figure.

Thank you for the review! Came in handy. Yea,man, I'm so conflicted right now whether to buy it or not. Symbiote spider man was shorter rhan original,sure, but i was ok with that. There's no doubt that ct 185 would have great quality and the size was my only concern. You can actually see that he's tiny bit smaller than symbiote ct release (considering the hight of the shoulders an upper traps). Not mad, not complaining, just not fit for my displays. Sure it would be a great fit as ultimate spider man. Tempted to buy the original rn😂

If you’re knowledgeable with hot glue, clay and paint you can (possibly) make them taller but removing the leg and arm joints and gluing them on a little farther but I dont know🤷‍♂️

probably because they have a copy of the Mafex master pieces, which is why they are so similar, to make a figure you have a base piece on which you print all the production, in China they have no control, these pieces are used to print illegal copies and sell them on AliExpress, or now they actually make duplicates of the master piece, and as happens with plaster, the copy is always smaller
