Thanks for the tutorial, Garry. I tried it on your emperor's cape as a test and when I apply an animation to him the cape moves. Great. But how do I get a character's cape to billow in the wind while the character is just standing still?
@GarryPye Жыл бұрын
Hey Muriel. Simply keyframe the movement of the first bone of the group, the one closest to cape where it sits at the neck. Then you will find all the other bones will move automatically as you play your animation if they are spring bones. And you can adjust all the settings of the spring bones to get the effect you want. If you get stuck, send me a private message on my Facebook page at facebook.com/garrypyeanimations and I'll go through it with you.

Garry, please help me. The spring effect is the only reason I'm trying to animate in Cartoon Animator. I applied it to a giraffe's tail, and everything looks fine in the previews, but when I render (PNG sequence), I only get movement from the first bone, and the rest of the vertebrae move rigidly, following the parent bone. I've spent the whole day searching for information, and the closest thing I found is to convert the effect into keyframes, but that doesn't work either. I follow the instructions to the letter, and when I try to convert the effect on the specific bone of the movement, the option is not enabled... What am I doing wrong?

If Im correct, the Spring Bones only take effect when you play the animation, not when you export a PNG sequence. My best suggestion here would be to ask David Arandle, who is excellent at the more technical side of Cartoon Animator. If you join the Cartoon Animator Users Facebook group (be sure to answer the 3 entry questions) and post your question in there, you will get an accurate answer to your question in no time.

@@GarryPye thank you, I was able to install the spring bone by separating the antenna first in a different layer in the psd editor 👍
