Christy and I where just talking about how we might remodel the house we buy next summer, like gut it to frame and make it ours. I am going to be using your videos to help us for sure. Might not have the equipment you all do, but it should be fun.

Awesome. We've definitely started from day one when we ripped out and hauled all the old brittle wood walls away. It's been a little at a time since we've tried to stay as debt-free as possible (electrical aside, we had to make that investment first thing or we wouldn't have power to run the tools, etc). On the equipment -- we've hemmed and hawed on a lot of purchases, try to do things first without labor saving devices, but occasionally we find we just have to bite the bullet and get something. This device will be more useful for repairing the ceilings, than the walls. I look forward to seeing y'all's house renovations!

That looks like a great tool to be able to do a lot of the work yourself. 👍

It helped somewhat, would have been better if there was a way to get it flush against the wall. Thank you for watching :)

I have seen this tool before but never seen it used. Thanks for the review on it , sorry it didn't help much with the walls. Have a great day.

Thank you for watching! I wish it went flush to the wall, but we do have ceilings to do, so it will definitely be used during all that -- ceilings in the main house and the smaller house.

Yea screws. I was wondering why y'all were using nails. lol Helpful tip. Hang them vertically with a wedge up underneath that way it would be flush at the top and less mud would be used. That is mostly used for ceilings, not walls. Hanging drywall horizontal you should be able to do the bottom piece first and then put the other sheet on top. Make sure you stagger the joints to give you a stronger bond for the walls. The gap at the bottom will be hidden with baseboard or tile base. Whichever one you decide to use. Use a Dremel for around the holes like outlets and switches. Things are coming along great. I am about to put on my tool belt and come and help. lol

There was a reason why he went horizontal, I'm trying to remember why. I think it was going to end up being less cutting hanging them horizontal? I'll ask him. Staggering the joints is a very good idea -- I'll pass that along. I was telling him about the baseboard covering the bottom gap -- and we plan on using wide crown moulding to hide any top gaps. We do have a dremel and I just ordered a Rotozip -- he's anxious to give that a try. I'll ask about why the horizontal versus the vertical. He did do part of the wall next to the window vertical since it was such a narrow strip. You have such great info/tips! Thank you so much.

I definitely think you made the right choice in career paths! Something C says repeatedly is, "I wish we started this when we were younger..." lol. We're doing beadboard in the kitchen/dining, so really just 3 rooms (not counting the mess of a bathroom) and then whatever needs to be done in the littler house. Whew!

Ceilings buddy .. or very high wall that you are on a scaffold and someone els lifts the sheet to you . It has its strengths :)

It works awesome for ceilings...we used it to repair the living room ceiling. Our main use on the walls is to hold it as Chris has to do everything pretty much alone (with our one teenager helping), so anything that can hold anything is a plus! Thank you for joining us today!

yeah looks like it would be handy for ceilings...I wonder if it can handle 12' long sheetrock

I don't remember the specs on it, but I think it's probably listed on Amazon. It has helped on the walls, but still need a second person. We think it will be most useful on the ceiling.

It’s not design for walls
@CanterburyTrailsFarm3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was stated in the video. However, the manufacturer does have instructions for use with walls. Primarily, the wall function is to lift and hold it into place so one person can hang the large sheet of drywall. Thank you for joining us today!

Amazon has this model for about $100. Sorry you paid so much. Maybe you can return the expensive one and get the less expensive one. Thank you for watching today!
