Guess those engineers knew what they were doing when they put that gas vent line in that you removed.

Love this series. I think you do things out of order though, at least from my perspective. If you had completed the floor restoration, then installed the tank and seat, you wouldn't have to do things twice.

Either add the vent to top of tank, or cut a slit in cap and use a screw driver to expand it downward to create a vent.

Need a pressure relief valve to release fumes. Put in fuel line from filter to tank
@badaxelbrewskiАй бұрын
Those two brackets on the back of the seat, pretty sure if you remove those bolts, you can then fold the seat forward. There won't be a catch or handle, but it will let you tip the seat whenever....including when hitting the brakes really hard 😁
@possumwerxАй бұрын
Yes, you can clearly see where someone bolted both of the two halves together, undoubtedly on purpose. Remove the plates and the seat will fold forward again.

Excellent Video CT :) for vent on fuel cap you can spray WD 40 on middle part take center off as you did and vent tub on tank to filler kneck so open cap slow it relieve the pressure that rubber Oil ring seal cap for also! May need change gas on sending until on top tank seal to or gaskets meder it so seal okay plus don't have fuel tank leak too! Also would get better Sterring Wheel in better shape plus horn trim to and cover on circle part but new at any part stores! Tire pressure all year round use 38 PSI even spare too unless haul heavy duty weights 40 be okay CT !

@SanDiego_VDubLifeАй бұрын
Wow. CT you didn’t take it apart. Now just fix things one at a time and keep it driving and on the road. Based on my VW bus the loose steering was caused by the drag link worn out bushing. I’m sure it’s the same concept on your truck but maybe by the Bentley manual for your truck. If not just get down there and look around. Look for bushings and replace them. The tie rod bushings will also cause wobbly steering.
@CTmoogАй бұрын
Yes, I'm pretty sure the all the busing are worn out on this one.

There should never be gas in the cab. There might be a gasket damaged where the sending unit mounts to the tank. Should vent outside so see if you can get the right cap and maybe replace the gasket on the sending unit.

Which came first? the sticky gross, smelly steering wheel or the gross, sticky, steering wheel cover? I have owned 3 of those "bump or dent side" era trucks and those steering wheels break down in the sun and turn sticky and grow. The more you clean it the worse it gets. Good luck finding a perfect replace ment for less than a thousand dollars. Get another twelve dollar Autozone cover and enjoy a clean steering wheel. Also if the brakes are acting funny, it is likely either wheel cylinders or the robber break lines have started broken down from the inside out. As far as the gas tank, that other system that you removed may be the problem. It probably needed to be replaced by the previous owner and was the reason it got parked. I hope the gas cap works.
@CTmoogАй бұрын
Thanks man! Yes, the OG steering wheels are expensive. I might get a aftermarket wheel. I like the wooden wheels with the hand grips careered out. those are cool. I'm looking in to the cap issue today.
@jaytitus902Ай бұрын
@@CTmoog The afermaket steering wheels are cool looking but they are frequently smaller and require more effort to use. I do like the aluminum models with the wood attached. So the wood sandwiches the aluminum. That wood grimes up pretty quick.
@AtomshamradioАй бұрын
