Michelin Radials. I remember going to radials when they were invented. Yeah I’m that old. And what a difference they made in the ride. I had a Westfalia Camper, a 23 window deluxe with sunroof and a pickup. Did you know VW made a split window pickup CT? I had two.

I think this would be cool: Spread rust converter on the body, inside and out, with a paint roller to preserve the metal that's left. Then clear coat. Replace only the front floor pan and cover it in rubber bed liner. New wheels, hub caps and tires and she would look awesome driving down the road.

The vw gods were looking out for me one year and found a 67 bus needed lot of work, then the next year luck comes our way in a 11 window 64 bus. Next 7 years later one of my you tube buddies in MI brother comes across a 67 camper bus they let us buy it. Ok maybe but only with vw's

Careful don't open the box too quickly you'll ruin your vw buzz! I hate to say it but none of the old 4 are salvagable maybe some torch work to get them presentable and sand blast them and quick primer shot as wall hangers but definitely Krispy past their prime!

You really need them as a first purchase. I didnt know they were that bad. Checked out the site for this vendor. They have everything you need to rebuild the van properly. Expensive parts but where are you going to get them at. You can probably sell one or two of your kids to finance this project.

The old rims have no use for a vehicle any more, but they could be used to make a woodburner. People weld rims together to make woodburners. :)

Hey nice to see you are getting things together for that great restoration although we love the VW have you considered renovating the Morris minor 1000 a classic here in the UK they were in production from 1952-1968 and around the world.they are reliable easy to work on spares are in good supply and have that slight bug look about them they also have a van version and traveller estate with wood frame i don't know if you have seen the restoration videos of the Morris but it's a enthusiast on KZbin called Badgertronix thought you might be interested and who knows it could be youre next project look forward to the continuing videos good luck.....

I would keep the old rims, and use them as stands... when the van is on its wheels again, if you need to work underneath it put one old rim under each wheel to give you a few inches extra height, and it’s totally safe because it’s on the ground already, so can’t fall anywhere. Another very good source of high quality parts is www.justkampers.com here in England.

CT nice rims... why don’t you take one of the rims and scan it..Make a wall clock out of it and hang it on the wall..Cut the just the face of the RIM AND Lugnut pattern....... and the outside of the rim for the wall clock ...... Put a rusty hubcap on the rim .... Then put a clock threw the center of the old hubcap PLEASE DONT PAINT THE OLD RUSTY RIM LEAVE THE WAY IT WAS .
