To me, Storyboarding is the essential task a director should master AND do, just like the Japanese anime directors do, for tv shows or theatre. Most of the time, the US directors don't have a clear idea about what they want on screen and rely on the crew to give them, not only the general idea, tone etc... but about the camera work and design as well. Really wonder some time what did the director on a show or movie but asking the production what they are looking about and playing golf when the crew is working hard and being credited for the good result. Storyboarders are so underated, they deserve the same recognition the animators get from the critics and fans.
