You made a mistake when looking at your aftermarket O2 sensor. The Black lead is where the Oem Blue lead was, the Grey lead is where the Oem White lead was.

That's what he said in the video after he stated it wrong the first time. Black is the blue wire...

If the point is to drop the voltage going to the ECU then adding a resistor in series shold work as its going to drop the voltage going to the ECU.

The schematic shows a polarized electrolytic cap, not a ceramic one.

Hello what was the end result did you get the fix perfected ?
@kristianjpatterson5480 Жыл бұрын
ok so as a few others have asked did the final solution minus the capacitor work out for you long term or did you need a different fix
@kristianjpatterson5480 Жыл бұрын
running an 06 xb and it appears to be functional after removing the capacitor no codes yet but still waiting on evap to clear all others are clear ie p0420 . when including the elctrolytic cap it would give a p0136.

Hey i think it works for me as it was described only it did not work first time with one resistor (add a second resistor in parallel and use as one )i did that i checked the data reader and the numbers have completely changed on the ob2b1 which is my air fuel sensor1# numbers are steady positive now 2.07-3.00 if im correct and no check engine yet i drove the car definitely felt better driving too so hopefully this helps thanks for this video it helped so much i had been struggling 🙏

You need to use an electrolytic cap. They have positive and negative leads. The cap you used doesn't.
@liveoak7838 Жыл бұрын
I made this work using the same cap he used

I noticed that you had, on the positive side, wired the capacitor on the ECU side of your resistor, and on the diagram it shows the capacitor being on the O2 side of the resistor. final output changed.
@stevenh4970 Жыл бұрын
The capacitor is between resistor and ecu which means it's on the plug side of the oxygen sensor pigtail. It's the same as on the diagram.

Hi, ive done exactly the same way on my mercedes A class (catalytic deleted), but my CEL still saying P0140: oxygen sensor no activity.
@welfixchile379 Жыл бұрын
That's because this filters the signal too much, add an extra resistor to avoid P0140
@NycCitizen Жыл бұрын
You did not install per the schematic. You put the capacitor on the o2 sensor side of the resistor…it’s supposed to go on the Ecu side of the resistor. AND , the capacitor is supposed to be a polarized one AND the positive side of the capacitor needs to be installed at the resistor signal line junction.
@stevenh4970 Жыл бұрын
I'm confused, the capacitor is on the plug side which is towards the computer in the video.The sensor side is going down into floor board to exhaust. It is according to diagram. He did have the wrong capacitor, but ended up removing the capacitor. If it's actually working with just the resistor, I may just do this.

I had the same problem. PCM error codes and voltage codes. Not sure about this as a fix

Hello I did this on my tundra and give me a different code saying circuit is to high and gave me a ecu code Used 1M ohm and 4,7 50 v capacitor Can u help me pls

You may have the wrong type of capacitor. The type you have really don’t have a polarity. You have a ceramic capacitor. You need an electrolytic capacitor.
@lukaszperski93706 ай бұрын
Its probably tantal capacitior, they have a polarity , its good to use such a type

When your check engine light comes on plug in a obd2 port reader, mostly this mod is good if you are trying to make Greta thunberg Happy by removing the catalytic converter guts 😀 and get better fuel economy 😊

I did this on a Honda Accord 2005, no more PO420, but now have PO190. So, fixed one code and another came up. PO190 indicates a slow response from O2 sensor, indicating a bad sensor. Sensor is good, was replaced recently. @
