Hi sir , I had 3 hrct chest scans in a span of 3 weeks. Is it too much radiation. Could you please tell me. I am so worried.i heard that hrct is 100 times more than regular CT.

It's a matter of concern

3 HRCT scans although gives more radiation than conventional CT...But it's not freaking...some sources put radiation dose of HRCT at 8 msv...and others put it at 40 msv for a single HRCT scan...it depends upon your DLP value of your HRCT..check the DLP values and enter them at xray risk calculator and see population risk... according to HPS society upto 50 msv per year appears safe...still check from your cardiologist
