Mugabe was selfish otherwise if he could incorporate Nkomo in is government Zimbabwe could have been better but he chose to prosecute the Matabele

Mugabe wanted revenge on the matabele for all the raids and slavery thrust upon the shona by them in the 19th centuary and earlier. He only achieved this cos the shona outnumber the matabele in zimbabwe now.

There's no languages called shona and ndebele, please stop this thing of saying shonas did this and that to the ndebele. There was an internal breakdown within the military, the government of Mugabe reacted to that with the Gukurahunde

This was before Gukurahundi, where the Shona killed tens of thousands of Matabele. Nkomo, of course, was Matabele. The Shona never forgave the Matabele for running away from Shaka in Zululand where they were being killed and enslaved. Such a sad story, I remember it all in the mid 1980s.

it was Mugabe and Zanu pf not the shona the way you are putting it gives the impression of what happened in Rwanda the shona never took up arms against anyone in this case their kith and keen in the ndebele peole....It was Mugabe and Zanu pf reason the british government remained mute on what was happening
