Greetings Paul. Nice to meet you. Your video came up on my feed. I am Marsha, a CCRN from the US. You have an excellent grasp on anatomy and physiology of your cancer. You gave an excellent explanation of your CT scan. I believe Ms. Roberta is your guardian angel. You are very fortunate that your initial surgeon & oncologist did his/her area and moved you along. It is my opinion that it was good that you didn't get the 1st clinical trial. You are going where miracles happen. You will be amazed w your team. I have signed up to come along on your journey. Take us w you & Brown Bunny if you can. Best wishes.

Thank you so much. I always worry I will get the factual parts wrong, so it is nice to hear feedback like yours. I also want to thank you for the work that you do as a CCRN. Healthcare staff are not adequately appreciated in my opinion. I've worked in the IT department of various hospitals, and I see the work that you do. To you and any other healthcare workers reading this: I appreciate the work that you do. You deserve more recognition. I don't celebrate the Kardashians. I celebrate the nurse that pulled a double-shift because if she didn't, then someone might have died. Paul.

@@UserConnhe specifically asked in this video for people to STOP suggesting alternative treatments. Paul is intelligent and has clearly thoroughly researched his situation- he doesn't need to be bombarded with comments like yours whilst he's exhausting the cancer treatment offered by hospitals. Ask someone who has had cancer twice I can say with authority that cancer patients do not want to keep being told about alternative treatments or narrative about crackpot miracle cures.

The story so far: Paul in Perth gets diagnosed with terminal cancer, and instead of wallowing alone in self-pity, as Michael from Vancouver, British Columbia likely would have done, he takes his journey to KZbin and completely exposes himself in order to help others who are going through a similar end of life journey, thus giving profound meaning to his existence, however long it happens to be. Thank you, Paul. Michael from Vancouver, British Columbia.

I’m 70. I still have the “guts” of the bunny my godmother put in my bassinet in the hospital when I was born. I only remember it with the raw fabric, darned, stitched up, buttons for eyes, and red velvet ears. I asked my Mom why it’s name was Pinkie and was surprised to learn it was once a pink plush bunny. When I became a godmother myself, I put a bunny in my goddaughter’s bassinet. I was present at her birth. She has now more passed it on to her own daughter. I love the tradition that has been formed. I hope that generations will love the silver Persian lamb fur off of Nickle. ❤️❤️🇨🇦

Hey Paul, ever since my father-in-law (who is also my brother's father) got diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer, I've been consuming a lot of cancer related videos here on KZbin, trying to understand and to cope with the idea that soon Sandro won't be with us anymore I came upon your channel expecting to find a man who wasn't able to live, but I encounter a man who gave life a fair fight and gave me more hope about the future, cancer is a bitch and it sure isn't easy to cope with your mortality, but your strength gave not only me, but Sandro, and everyone around him, a better understanding of the beast we will ride on and how to keep your head straight in this never ending struggle You helped me more than you can imagine, cancer became to us not about death, but about life, about the way you live is more important than your death, bless you man, and the best of luck to us all

I’ve always researched any malady I’ve had since an MVA that almost took my life 42 years ago. Having had over 30 general anesthetic since that time, with my last surgery being 2 weeks ago to get an artificial knee in my ‘good’ knee. I hope I don’t state the obvious, but you clearly get comfort from researching the medical procedures afforded you as opposed to many who do not want the details. It makes me like you even more, as being your own advocate keeps you in a position where doctors tend to be more willing to be clearer and more candid towards the patient. Keep up your humour and your crying, it is endearing. Supporting you from Canada.

Paul, I understand that with a PCI of 39 your Perth team did not want to undertake such an operation, but why didn’t they refer you to the Sydney surgeons then, or any group that had those resources? I too appreciate a surgeon knowing their limitations; however, they also know who and where such procedures can be done. The fact you had to discover this via a support group is both alarming and a blessing.
@Nicana68

This occurred to me also and it's concerning, to say the least. But in my experience (as a fellow West Australian) it's typical of many specialists and surgeons here.
@Crymeariver227

@@Nicana68 It’s not restricted to only your country; here in the US I can speak from personal experience. I dealt with a doctor with an ego so bloated he couldn’t see himself in any way other than the Messiah complex he portrayed; it cost my brother his life. Not saying this was Paul’s experience, however, if you knew there was a life ring at one end of the boat while you were on the other, and someone fell overboard, would you do nothing because the life ring was too far away, or yell for the guy on that end to throw it to the drowning man? I’m just thankful for that layperson in the support group that made the connection!

It is always on my mind of the esophagus that also resides just inside the top part of my stomach will spread though out like a Wild Fire. My oncologist and radiologist keep assuring me both the chemo and radiation are holding it from spreading. Have 2 more chemo, and 14 radiation, and then another PET scan. Paul, thank you for sharing this video, especially the part about your mom. It made me realize something. My mom was diagnosed with metastasized breast cancer 5 years ago. She passed away in October 2020. Unfortunately, prior to her diagnosis, our relationship wasn't good, we had no contact for many years. That actually only changed after she told me about her diagnosis. During her treatment, she gave a plush cat to me (I have two cats so she knew I like them). I thought it was cute but didn't think much more of it. But now that you spoke of the little rabbit your mom has given you it suddenly occured to me that my mom's gift wasn't just a random one, but that she wanted me to have this to remember her. Perhaps to make up for the time we had lost. I don't know why I was so blind to it the whole time. That's at least how I'm gonna see that little plushie now and it was very comforting and touching to realize that. Thanks again, Paul. Greetings to you and everyone reading this from Germany 😊

Hi Paul, I love that you’ve renamed the “Like” button to “Care”, it makes it feel so much more appropriate to click on it, prior to that it felt (to me) wrong to “Like” your situation, but although I don’t know you personally I do care, and wish all the very best for you going forward. I sincerely hope you are eligible for the surgery and that it is completely successful for you. You are a lovely person and an incredible inspiration to all who follow your channel, your attention to detail when it comes to everything medical is very comprehensively presented and I’ve no doubt very much appreciated by any who need it made comfortably easy to understand. Again, I wish you every success and as long and as comfortable a life as is possible for you as a result. Very best wishes and care from Ireland. 😊

Dearest Paul, What an engaging, brilliant, and incredibly courageous man you are! I just wanted to say that i will be along for your journey going forward and i wish you great luck in this next big step. I really hope miracles are in store for you. I had an abdominal cancer 30 years ago and i was a complete mess, not anywhere as clear, concise or brave as you are. You amaze me! I'm glad you have brown bunny and your dear mum with you ... and all of these hopeful followers too. Consider me one of them now! Best of luck! ❤

Dear Paul, what a wonderful man you are! All that information you give everyone. We all learn so much about what you tell us in your videos: your strength, your hope and your courage, the positive energy you spread and of course all the information you share. I hope the conversation with the surgeon next Wednesday gives you what YOU need. Good luck! We are here for you. 💪🏽❤

I wish you well on your trip to Sydney. Brown Bunny will be with you. 🐇 I think it is so awesome you learned to break down words from your dad. Makes text easier to understand. Your parents did a great job raising you and I’m sure they would be so proud of you now. As always your in my prayers. 💖

Thank you for clarifying all of this. Your cancer is just horrible. I made a comment on your last video that was way off, because I have never heard of anything like your type of cancer. Bless you, Paul, you have such a good attitude. Good grief. Take care.
