I have one of these and I dearly love it. I'm a 60 year old out of shape woman and I have no problems with it. I don't know what I would do without it.

This machine is amazing, it has been a life saver for trimming around our yard and garden area, we have about 45-50 holly bushes on our driveway so this is a life saver for me.

As a rule if thumb on hot days when I take a break from mowing I try to keep my cub cadet in the shade if I can

Purchased this walk behind trimmer at a reputable big box store. After putting in fresh, treated 91 non-eth gas..and checking for right amount of oil, would not start. Would NOT start. Had several bird strikes on it so figured it sat outside somewhere for a good portion of it’s life…ascertained it is 2021 model. Tore down and removed carb. The main jet was plugged. (from old gas when started at factory ????). After small eye dropper prime, started right up, but, didn’t run very long. After repeating this 6 times finally continued to run.

You can really increase power of the cub cadet when under heavy load by slightly bending the mount for the throttle spring up.

You can buy the cords by spool of cord all you need is a new cord cutting with rose pruner shears

The Cub ST-100 was a good trimmer until my Spindle (the item at the front the sting mounts to) sealed bearings froze up on the shaft after 14 months of light use. Cub refused to warrant the part saying it was a "wear-item", even though the trimmer has a 3-year warranty and a 2-pull start guarantee. When I asked the dealer mechanic how much I was quoted $283 dollar for parts/labor to replace the spindle/bearing unit. The trimmer only cost $319 to begin with. Needless to say, always ask what is warranted and what is not before buying. I got burned so I hope you don't.

I recently bought the same model and let me tell you that thing tears up the brush . I like the square cub cadet standard string but read that .155 Cyclone was better so I bought a 300 ft roll. Out of curiosity I put a Cub Cadet square on one side and the Cyclone on the other to see which one lasted better. To tell you the truth they were about the same amount of wear. Now which one cuts better ? Beats me as they both cut well. I did also buy a roll of .175 DR string because people say its the best (as you can see I like to try things out) . I'll try that when I get a chance to see although that .175 string is pretty pricey for what you get so it better last a lot longer

young Lady, good JOB !!!! Mine least 4 year's old, ,, from day one, since 10-30 oil, I use Mobil 1, full Synthetic ! ( promise better oil, than Arnold, or any conventional). forget if first oil change, is after 5 hour's run time, or 8 hour's, but first most important !!! cam shaft and crank shaft sprocket's, meet same place, over n over till smooth, ,,, till smooth, get that shaved metal out !!!! start mower, run for least 20-40 second's, ,, then drain oil and add fresh !!! and keep up oil changes and keep a clean air filter, and she'll run for year's !!! the best of best string, is the blue string, look's like your red string, but only sold from" DR trimmer " web site !! worth $17.00 roll,,, last's 3 year's !! and best of best strong string !! My Cub Cadet ST100, replaced a DR trimmer mower, from many, many year's, original Model with huge plexi-glass shield !! LOL,,, and if u run True fuel, 4 stroke gas, you'll never have to store seasonally empty !! or at least run ethenol free !!! ethenol hard on carb. !!!

Have you looked into adding a blade attachment for cutting smaller trees?

I’d like to know what you think about it after having it for a year or more please let me know if you would still buy this machine because I am looking at one for my property
@tennesseegirl55394 жыл бұрын
I just bought one and I love it! But it doesn't do well on the bigger woody stemmed weeds and saplings if they are bigger than an inch it will break and blow the line. But as long as they aren't really hard and thick, it is great!!!! Also it's very rocky here and you have to watch for rocks. That will also blow your string

Gem girl Yes that cup cadet string mower was a great investment not only for my wallet but for my hands and elbows the amount of weed eating that I had to do used to take me about a day now I can do it in a couple hours in the spring and early summer to help cut down for late season fire prevention . I have about 3 1/2 miles of road to our property with grass and snow berry bushes on the edges and have no problem the cub cadet string seems to work the best though? If you know of any better string please let me know.

I have the Cub Cadet st100 string trimmer and i been fairly happy with it its about 5 years old its not a finishing mower its made for fence lines and tall weeds it will cut normal short grass but it takes a wile you have to be patient with it the wheels have tendency to dig in in soft sand I live in north central Texas where sand eats mower blades down to nothing. I mowed my naybours yard who let it go for a year or 2 the weeds were over 6 feet and I'm in my 60s it would be nice if it had a self propel drive system. If you have tractor supply they sell Ithink its a Toro version it has the wider wheels that will give you a easier mobility I hope this helps

Had to sit through 4 minutes of you complaining about the machine before watching you demo it for 30 seconds on SHORT grass, not what I would call a review.
