Thank you i am a 66 y.o woman with severe arthritis. I have a 3 acre yard with OLD PINES (see limbs and pinecones ALL THE TIME) i sweep or rake as much as possible before i mow but there are ALWAYS half a dozen THINGS either i miss or fall before the next day when i mow. Having to stop and restart my mower EVERY time i get off it wears out your starter and your battery in about HALF the time. My ANTIQUE snapper, think the snapper that Forrest Gump uses to mow the FB field in the movie didnt have this SAFETY feature. Yes i understand disengaging the blades and then i always put the deck on the ground when i get off. Thanks so much i am going to take care of this RIGHT NOW.

genius! this is brilliant dude thanks for posting, I'll try this tmrw - I have a Cub Cadet mower LT42, XT1 Enduro series and this safety feature bugs me because somehow the seat sensor always screws with being able to put the mower to where you can REVERSE with the blades engaged! somehow the seat sensor is like extra sensitive, and after a few bumps, that Reverse feature will shut itself off - I'm convinced it's because the damn seat sensor is so sensitive

Not to mention is saves a lot of wear and tear on the ignition system and battery constantly starting the mower each and every time you get off the thing

Sweet! Not just picking up sticks. On bump terrain if your arse lifts off the seat for a split second the PTO disengages completely. Pain in the butt.

2021 cubcadet zt1 zero turn seat bypass. On the female side of switch (wire harness side). Pin 1 & 4 need to be closed & pin 2 & 3 need to be open.

Operator doesn't have to be in the seat if the brake is set. My yard is sloped 8-10% in 2 directions, so there's really no way to mow it up and down hill like the UM says. At the outer edges of the property, the mower is a bit tippy - so as much of a pain as that switch is, I leave it intact and just set the parking brake when I have to jump off the mower for a stick.

I need that, caus I'm too lightweight... It's always disengaging the pto when driving over a bump so I have to reverse and restart the unmowed grass it's annoying...

My female neighbor couldn't activate the switch with her weight. Is there a way to make it activate with a lighter load? Physical adjustment?

It's either on or off. It's not a proportional switch. Changing the spring in the switch wouldn't matter either, because if you can compress the seat foam at all the switch will change states.

@@coreyreichenberg325 thanks! I ended up figuring out how to do this myself, the sensor switch shown in this video didn't match mine at all, it was a different configuration (but still relatively easy to figure out)

I took that bar out but still stops when off seat . I think u need to jump wires

What bar? Jumping wires is just the permanent version of what I did with the switch. You can hold the switch down with a zip tie and or tape you don't need to do anything to the wires

If you disengage your mower deck and lock the parking brake on you can get off the seat without the engine stopping .

Well yeah, but if you want to keep the tractor running while you're leaning for a hill or if you have a bumpy yard and it's bouncing you off the seat that won't work

Shoot mine starts shutting off if I happen to lean up to readjust. Plus nobody wants do all that just to hop off the seat.
