On your old carb drill those plugs out to remove & clean the idle & main jets then you have a backup carb for later on. "Let me be Clear & By the way"😳 Great vid on carb replacement 👍👍

Thank you for a direct, no nonsense explanation. I wonder if I could leave the lights unplugged? I don't mow at night. Hmm.
@LonnieJohnson16 ай бұрын
Your welcome, and yes you can leave the lights disconnected just put the wire where they can't get damaged.
@sissymurphy96204 ай бұрын
put a protector over the connectors for the lighs so if you need lights in the future they are not ruined by dirt . . I bought at my local flea market a package of rubber grease port protectors and other rubber parts it had just the right size rubber pieces in it to cover the connector . Not sure what they were for but they fit . I needed new grease port protectors and for 50 cents , I think it was a win win for me

A friend of mine came over today and he showed me your video. I said that the video I followed lol! Ok the throttle linkage isn’t moving like it should. It’s just burning through fuel. Maybe I need a new throttle link spring?? Kohler sv541 -3212 18hp its 2016 cub cadet xt1 . Everything else is good. Engine is running ok on choke even in the middle. Throttle all the way down engine is wide open. Oh I forgot it seems like the throttle linkage is to long. So it’s preventing it to work right on carburetor. I hope this makes sense. Thank you

The throttle cable can be adjusted.

So can these carburetors be cleaned in anyway since they can’t be dismantled to give them a proper clean?

Yes

Very simple to follow along video. I’ll still call for service to fix mine lol. However 2 summers in a row my carburetor has clogged up and I’m using ethanol free gas. What do you think is the issue?
@LonnieJohnson15 ай бұрын
Cheap gas. You need to run 93 octane
@MartinD99992 ай бұрын
@LonnieJohnson1 You still think it’s better to run higher octane fuel with ethanol than ethanol-free fuel with a lower octane?
@LonnieJohnson12 ай бұрын
I will keep using 93 in all my equipment because 87 has water added as a filler to make more money. Now they have invented a so called winter blend and charge more $$ which is a money scam.

My exact cub cadet starts, but wont stay running. Starts dying out like no fuel, kicks and backfires till it shuts off. Do you think carb might be the answer?

Check your gas it might have water in it. I use 93 octane in my equipment.

Thanks for this video!! Hey, where did you get that pair pliers to cut gas flow?
@LonnieJohnson19 ай бұрын
Amazon
@bigsnow17055 ай бұрын
What kind of pliers?
@MartinD99992 ай бұрын
@bigsnow1705 “Hose pinching pliers” they usually come in a set of 3 to fit different diameter hoses but I usually just use the smaller one for my mower work since they extend.

Do you need to make any adjustments to the carb? I should replaced mine by watching your video. Mine surges now. Thanks
@LonnieJohnson17 ай бұрын
If it has an air adjustment screw on it you can adjust it in or out and it will fix the surging. It's an air issue with the carb.

My lawn mower starts but is revving up very high. I can’t get it to stop. I’ve check the throttle,choke, governor, fuel line. I’m lost on what it could be. I’m not sure if it is the carb? Help please

Turn idle screw counter clockwise and make sure the governor is not stuck.

This is because of all the crappy gas we get now blame it on the democrats ' 78 hours on my 46 inch cub cadet and second one . Gas is dirty and crappy . I need stock in fuel pumps and gas filters and carbs . I am a 71 and a woman and my cub cadet is a V twin 22hp . We need to drill baby drill our own fuel . I use parts tree all the time . I printed out all the info for both my cub cadets . I think you need a new gas filter . I saw gas dripping every place it could

Trump open the oil line and Biden shut it down. Blame it on the Democrat's.

@sissymurphy9620 🤣 The Democrats gave you crappy fuel? 🤣 What difference does it make where we drill? We now drill more oil on US soil than ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE PLANET! 13.5 million barrels per DAY! I suppose it’s easier to blame others for anything we don’t like 🤭
