Great video man! With the help of this video, I went from never dismantling one of these or knowing how they worked, to taking it apart figuring out what was wrong and ordering a repair kit. I really like that you put the links for the items and to your other video too 👍 My carburator was a different part number than the one in this video, but the internals are pretty much the same.

If you have access to it, can you just take off the bowl with the carb still on the mower? I have one I suspect the fuel solenoid is all that's wrong.

Really appreciate your videos sir !!!!!! Great humor too. One question, I did everything and it runs beautiful now, yet I can't even find my OEM carb for my Cub Cadet. It's a KT 725-3055 Kohler model (Xt1 Lt46 year: 2016) they sell all these carbs with "no" vapor hose outlet on "top" of the carb. Am I missing something, is that what all new carbs are now ?, if so, what do I do with the hose not connecting to the carb then ? Any feedback would help tremendously, God bless you and all your loved ones. ❤
@MowerMike4 ай бұрын
Glad it helped. The hose should plug into the intake not the actual metal carb. You should be fine with an Amazon carb. Once you take it off you will see the only hose feeding the carb is the fuel line. Good luck

Welcome aboard, strap in it could get weird. Just go to your local mower shop they can set you up, or get one on Amazon. It is a 50/50 on if the Amazon carb will work but they are cheap

Can that solenoid be tested? Do you they sell that as a replacement? Great Video
@MowerMike2 жыл бұрын
Yes it can, check out Chickanics channel I think she has a video on testing it with a battery. Or you can just unscrew it and you will see it go down when you turn the key. Be careful with gas and fumes though

Best advice to get my 1045 running again Check the solenoid ~ I'd had problems with water contaminated fuel ( so I thought ) in a few different machines So when my Cub LT1045 died and wouldn't restart I assumed the fuel problem again But I had run the machine for half an hour before the motor quit ??? Hhmmm, wouldn't it have drank the water at the bottom of the tank first ? HHMM ? Watching your video (especially the last part explaining the purpose of the solenoid ) This sounded like a possible cause ! ;-)> Checking the solenoid ... there was the power plug dangling down in the wind Plugged solenoid back in but then found the battery dead from leaving the key on , DOH ! Battery went on the charger overnight . GREEN LIGHT GO !. ( Overnight I had a BAD DREAM that it STILL had the same nostart 🤮 ) BUT when I put the battery back in SHE FIRED RIGHT UP ! Thanks Mower Man Mike You're a genius! My lawn is cut and my neighbors don't hate me any more 🤓

I see you took the seal off of the backfire solenoid. Mine was stuck in the closed position. I cut the plunger off mine and unplugged it. Is that a bad thing?

Haha I have no idea but that will do the trick for sure. That plunger is to prevent backfires.

Sounds like you float needle isn’t sealing. I would just get a cheapo Amazon carb and strap it on and see if it fixes it.

One other thing... I am working on a Cub Cadet 1046 w/courage 22HP motor and trying to remove the engine cover. Am I wrong or does one have to remove the fuel tank and shroud just to get the engine cover off? Is there a simpler way of doing it?
@MowerMike Жыл бұрын
You have to take the fuel tank off. It sucks. Check out my cub fuel tank removal video
@cwes43622 жыл бұрын
Great video man. I have done everything you have said. Everything appears clean, put it back together and when I start the mower gas sprays out my muffler! Maybe bad carb? Could you tell me where to find this exact carb you are working on? Or maybe an idea of what wrong? Everywhere I look I see carbs but none of them list my model koeler the 725-3055..
@MowerMike2 жыл бұрын
Check out the links on the video description, I have a carb replacement video with links to new carbs. But, if fuel is spraying out your muffler you may have bigger engine issues than the carb. Be careful don’t blow yourself up.

My cub cadet is flooding really bad. Kohler engine. The throttle control does not want to push up and down. Any idea how I can unstoppable carburetor without taking it off. I'm physically challenged and cannot take it off. Gas is in the oil and air filter reeks of gas.
@MowerMike9 ай бұрын
It sounds like your float is stuck flooding the carburetor. Try whacking the carburetor with a hammer a few times and see if you can jiggle someone loose. Never know.
@jessemeeksjr.50642 жыл бұрын
Do you know the serial number of the carb?
@MowerMike2 жыл бұрын
No I do not. To find the right carb you can google the mower model. Or the engine model (if it is a Kohler it is stamped on the block towards the back, Briggs will have it on the valve cover). Be careful ordering the Chinese carbs off Amazon they seem to suck lately and only half of them work.

Best video I've seen on this Carburetor. I have the same carburetor on my Cub Cadet Zero Turn. It is marked Walbro LMC. My engine surges (too lean) whenever the blades are not engaged. I purchased a new Carb and that fixed the surging for 6 months. Now doing it again. I have cleaned both carbs per your video to no avail. It is annoying that you can't adjust these carburetors. I'm to the point of drilling out the jet as I don't want to purchase another Carburetor every 6 months. I know running lean is bad for the engine Any suggestion before I pull out my drill bits?
@MowerMike2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. If both carbs are clean and it is doing the same thing it may not be the carb. Try checking the valve clearances I have a couple of videos on it. Also, Make sure you have a good seal with the intake gasket and it isn’t leaking air between the engine and the carb. If you can see through the jet and it has a nice round hole then that jet probably isn’t your issue. But if you still can’t figure it out there is no harm in drilling it out as long as the bit isn’t larger than the jet. Good luck I know it can be annoying.
