What a curious video. Our narrator, upon arriving immediately states that Trinidad does not look “encouraging”, that “Everything is in ruins” and that the streets are made of stones and “uneven”. Because it is a historic colonial village, the government forbids the locals from “renovating” the “ruins” at this Unesco World Heritage Site. Those streets are cobblestones, made from the ballast of ancient ships that used to port there. They are there, once again…for HISTORICAL reasons. Let me remind our narrator that we travel to other countries FOR THE DIFFERENCES. If these countries were the same as back home, there would be little reason to travel there. Most lovers of travel are LOOKING FOR THE PAST…which is precisely why Trinidad is a treasure. My recommendation to those who only want only sunshine and no history, is to go to Varadero. “The effect of time is visible” in Trinidad. Which is, after all, the whole point!

@ChristopherP. Hitchens. Thank you for your substantive comment. I fully agree with him. In the film, I describe the impressions I had shortly after my stay in Cienfuegos. That city looked completely different and this is what the comparison referred to. I found out why there was such a difference only after returning from Cuba. While in this country, I visited many interesting places, which you can see on my channel. I was there because they are different from the beaches in Varadero. Best Regards from Poland. Tomasz P
