How did you bring the cigars back into the USA? Was there any issues with US customs?
@mv0697 Жыл бұрын
This is 4 years ago .. president Obama change the rules and trump change them back so at this point no you can’t… but here’s a little info if you go vinales which is about an hour and half ..as long as you are there to support the Cuba ppl and not the govt you can buy directly from grower and rollers and can bring as much as you can .. the have special lead wrapping in a bundle of 50 ..those are recognized by customs and are allowed .. the difference is your not paying for a name versus cigars without bands or boxes to show off that you brought Cubans

Cool trip!! Been smoking cigars for a long time. I'll bet you that the fresh rolled from that lady was awesome. If I were to go, I would find a roller like her. Then, if I liked the taste, draw, size, etc., cut a deal with her for about 100 or 200. Then, get a receipt for a price that would sound reasonable to customs....lol.

Do you happen to know Cuba cigar shops operating hours? Are they open late? Are they open sundays? We are arriving Saturday afternoon and leaving Sunday evening. Trying to plan accordingly. Thank you!!!
@TheModernDayDrifter5 жыл бұрын
It's dependent but I would say most in Cuba open around 10am and close about 6pm. Some will stay open later but 6pm is a good cut off point. Most are open 7 days a week as well however close a little earlier on weekends.

Great video! Big cigars fan! First time in Cuba this March. What top few places to buy cigars would you recommend? Have you been at kempinski hotel at the Cohiba shop? Who is this Carlos guy? Love learning the history and special places when I travel. Do you tip the shops? I have heard Cubans income per month is $35. Thank you.
@TheModernDayDrifter5 жыл бұрын
La Quinta 5y16 LCDH has the most selection imo. Any of the large hotels like Nacional, Habana Libre, and Melia Cohiba are available. Off the grid, you can do El Aljibe or Hemingway Marina. Carlos Robaina is the son of Alejandro Robaina. One of the farms in the Pinar Del Rio region where the best tobacco is said to be grown. Yes, we do but its not expected. We do it as a courtesy for their help and it's always good to help! Thanks for watching!

@@TheModernDayDrifter : Yep! Years ago(about 15), I had ordered two boxes of inexpensive cigars from Switzerland. When the package came through customs, they opened it. When the cigars arrived at my home, it was re-packaged with the red customs tape and a note saying it was inspected by customs. But, it only contained one box. I guess the customs gang kept the other box to see, if they were indeed real cuban cigars by a smoking test......lol. Had to be one of the funniest experiences I ever had smoking those wonderful "Habanas".......lol.

It would be nice to gvie prices of the boxes you bought so that viewers can get a baseline of LCDH store prices vs global LCDH store prices.
Great cigar haul, price is best in the world, if you buy from LCDH instead of the street, it’s the real deal, the money exchange at the airport is definitely a scam, they only short me 50 euro, then I gave him 10 cuc to break into singles for tipping, he gave me 8 back, greedy a hole, my friend has the same ripoff, short 100, think they do it to almost every tourist, you don’t seemed to be bothered by it,that’s good vibe, too bad they only have the regular production Habanos, went to 4 LCDH, no LE grand reserva, price is unbeatable
