I'm going to ask a potentially very silly question... are major coronas a larger version of the H. Upmann Half Corona?

Having one now down in Mexico and it’s great. Tons of smoke and even burn. Sounds like he got a lemon.

Seems over humidified since light up. Thanks for this great video

I think you said it. It’s still too damp! Leave it a bit - I don’t get tunneling on properly humidified one. Just my thoughts.

Did you just seriously slam the whole brand after smoking 1 cigar of 1 vitola? I hope people are not paying attention to you... Most cubans smoke best in the 62-65% humidity range so if you purchased this overhumidified and let it rest for 2 weeks, chances are the whole cigar did not come down in RH. Most likely why you had tunneling and clearly lighting problems at the very beginning. If you did purchase a box, I hope you try smoking these about 3 months later to give them a fair shot and more than one, at that...

At this point, I'm ready to slam the entire cuban cigar industry. In 60 years, they haven't changed a thing, and mostly produce only average cigars. Meanwhile, Nicaragua has evolved into producing some of the best tasting and unique blends. I've smoked many cubans, a few good, a lot bad, and most just average.

I guess I don't understand the thought behind this. I love some Nico cigars and love some Cuban cigars. They are distinctly different products. I also dislike many offerings from both countries. I also have no idea your sample size to write off an entire countries worth of cigars. I generally dislike Merlot's, but have had a few that were really good. That is my opinion but I would not tell everyone one in a public forum that all Merlots are shit and should be ignored. It's subjective. I have also noticed since I am smoking more pipe tobacco lately that many of my beloved cigars are not the same anymore. I will not chuck them because my pallet will undoubtedly shift again in the future.

@@Kingsmokingpipesandcigars So much trouble with quality of Cubans, hit and miss and more miss ... But I have not yet found a "new world" cigar that I like, but I am a beginner when it comes to cigars.

Loved this one, more taste then other I have tried and burned well with no problem. I guess I was lucky with the single tubed cigar I got and smoked only days after buying.

Problem was it needed more acclimatization regarding the humidity. Tube cigars need to be uncapped in the humidor for longer than boxed cigars. Too bad these are normally pretty good. Thanks for the video.

Had lot of troubles with specially Cubans being over humidified, I am now using 62% boveda packs and that end up at 67% humidity for me with sealed glass jars... I had no troubles with this one and the one I had had perfect not to much humidity as I smoked it only days after buying.

And in the uk they always replace any duds.

Damp stick.. Cubans like mid 60’s humidity when smoked.. Many even leave them out on the ashtray for a few hours before lightings

Wish I watched this video before smoking one but hey ho. Went into my local cigar shop, tbh really disappointed that they recommended this cigar as a beginner. As I'm new to cigars, everything you said is what experienced when smoking this cigar..Wouldn't smoke or recommend one again.
