There is a Cuban restaurant here that we can check out Dan. I saw these things on a show called, "Hamburger Land". Great show! I'm not sure if they have the burgers at the place down here. I guess they're really popular in Miami. We need to coordinate if you're gonna' make it down this way. I'm out of town the last week of June.

Greg, your mojo looks delicous! I made a thinner version of that stuff for cuban sandwiches a while back and that sour orange juice flavor comes steaming through... it's delicious! I had a cuban in a place in DC called Cuba Libre a while back and they served shoestring potatoes as a side along with plantain chips!

Damn, damn, damn, thats a damn great burger! Every year theres a burger cook off for Fathers day where I live and I've been stock piling ideas for a winning burger. I think that a mojo mayo and fried shoe string potatoes is something relatable and nothing theyve ever seen around here. Thanks for the inspiration.

I agree with those who say it has more Mexican flavor. I'm American, of Cuban heritage and love a burger. But I will choose a good Cuban frita every time. The chorizo gives it a delicious kick n the potato stix on top is the icing. Mexican flavor has indian influence, alot of corn and heat. Cuban food is more like Spanish with a hint of the tropics.

Five star out of five stars for the excellent quality of your videos. I was in the photography / video business for twenty years. Sadly, most of the videos on You Tube are so poorly done, that I was thinking you should do a video teaching how to make a good video- lighting, sound, content flow etc. Also, would you please tell me what brand is your grill and where can I buy one? Thanks
@BallisticBBQ9 жыл бұрын
+James Gaul Thank you! Especially since this an a pretty old video. Yikes! I hate watching my older videos. My actual grill is a Weber Performer outfitted with a Craycort Cast Iron Grate. The flattop was made custom, but stand-by on that. I'm hoping to have a link within a month for folks interested in purchasing one.

@BallisticBBQ8 жыл бұрын
+29render Yes, it's up in the description box now, below the video "player". The link will take you to Craycort's site, where you will see the flattop. They also carry the cast iron grates.

This is unrelated to the current video, but you did a review on the looftlighter thing and I couldn't help but feel a need to share a much more convenient and quick method using a device called an electric charcoal starter. it's like a long oval metal piece that plugs in and you stack your coals on. it gets the coals rockin quickly and evenly without having to hold it, you may want to give it a try if you haven't already, i love mine and would not dream of using anything else.

Is this your supper before dinner? Hahaha... how did your friends like them? I love putting fried (or stick) on my burgers. ALSO - the technique of the oil/onions pressed into the burger is killer (did you say bitchin? LOL)! Fried onions always do something awesome to a flattop fried burger. AWESOME recipe for mole, and it seems simple enough to get those ingredients... KETCHUP! Brilliant, dude.

the cuban version. lol... yours was great, but the flavors were more mexican. im sure originally it consists of chorizo and beef or pork blend with swiss cheese, avocado and a mojo. something along those lines. just my thoughts though, love the videos.

This has nothing to do with a Cuban Frita. Its looks like a nice burger cooked by a semi cool dude, but please don't fool yourself. It is Not a Cuban Frita and NO Its not Cuban Style either. Just cause you chuck some shoe string fries on a burger don't make it a Cuban Frita.

This is some sort of weird Mexican Burger (we Cubans do not have anything to do with Mexico or their food, we are extremely different) Thats no Frita and that is no Mojo. We do not use "Ancho Chile or any type of Chile, Cuban food is *NOT HOT* Mojo does not use tomato or anything red. It is just Sour orange and Garlic and some spices like cumin oregano, salt etc. The Frita however does not use any type of Mojo not ketchup mayo or anything else for that matter, Just tiny french fries. This just looks like a Frita but it is not even close to one. But thanks for the effort, just remember next time.... we are not Mexicans.
@SupaDupaaFlyy9 жыл бұрын
latengocomoburro Nobody said Cubans are Mexicans...You're making it sound like its wrong to use Mexican influenced ingredients on a "Cuban" burger..You're right that Cuban cuisine and Mexican cuisine are very different. That doesn't mean you can have best of both worlds.
