I've lived in miami my entire life, and this recipe is the real deal. Only thing off is the bread, it's gotta be cuban bread then it's 100% authentic. But i get it that that bread isn't available in the rest of the US. French or puerto rican bread are probably the most similar to cuban. Also, if you don't have that particular ketchup, just use regular ketchup and add cumin and Frank's red hot sauce to your sauce

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t too interested by title alone not knowing. It’s a killer burger I will be making soon. Has all the right notes, lots of onions the ketchup with acv, plus fried potato slivers! Too good. Thanks for all you do Chef T.

As a Cuban-American I can say you did honor our Cuban Frita. I would use some ground pork chunks or chorizo in the meat mix. But, what made it special were the properly done match stick fried potatoes. Most people use the canned match stick potatoes and they just don’t make it! Good job!

Hey brother, I've been a subscriber now for a few years. As a Cuban-American, I do appreciate you doing this burger. Your style of it looks yummy and I sure will give it a try. I do encourage anyone travelling through Miami or if you run into a Cuban restaurant anywhere, to try one of these original burgers. So delicious! Thanks.

Very good representation of a Frita. However, minced chorizo and cuban bread, takes it to a entirely different level. Great as always Tom! And yes...cheese is a must.

I was thinking about the same thing about the Swiss, my dude. Also - i'm surprised there weren't pickles on this, too....or pickled red onions in place of the raw white onion. Regardless - that's a freakin' killer looking burg.
