I do this a lot, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I noticed the build up very quickly. I don't use soap and water, though, I find using some kind of soft cloth works really well. If I'm wearing a black shirt, I'll just use my shirt. Yesterday, I did a complete clean out like you did in this video to my AoLong v1, cleaning and relubing the core and the pieces. It was always insanely good, (it's been my main for over 4 months), but now it's insane.

I generally clean it out regularly also but every 2 cleanouts, i separate the pieces into the 3 or 2 parts and there tends to be buildup there also

I've had over 1000 solves on my Aolong, and it still feels good. I've lubed the core once with weight 2 lubicle. I don't lube my cubes often, because i care more about the actual solving process rather than the slight bumpiness. But i guess we're just different from this point of view. But as always, good video.

That's probably just spring noise all you have to do is lube the core.

if you have a spare stickerset, you can put it in the dishwasher, superclean en more quick. certainly for bigger cubes like 4x4, 5x5, bigger cubes, megaminx,... :-)

Hi. I need an expert advice. After first setup of my gts3m it was turninng great. BUT, after some time I found that some pieces are dirty, so I decided to clean all the pieces using cloth with water and soap, and relube the cube. Unfortunatelly after cleaning, cube is now very gummy and much harder to turn. Any advice what can I do to make it great again? I have used same lube, same amount of it on the cube. I thought about using isopropanol to clean the pieces but I'm not sure it's a good idea. Will be gratefull for any advice.

Maybe you should clean the cube again and use a different lube, certain lubes can make certain cubes gummy, it worked for my Qiyi Warrior W

it probably already had some lube in it too that was more runny and your lube was gummy so when you cleaned it you got rid of the faster old lube. idk

I like to clean my cube with silicon spray because if you let the silicone on the plasticfor about 20 mins., it will make the plastic very smooth but make sure you clean off the silcone before you lube it.

I was curious if it was the problem, I dont have lots of money to throw around so I speed cube on a qiyi warrior w and it gets white dust inside. I cleaned it and it instantly became like new.

Put a light coat of lube around the edges of the caps, not too much. I did it for my weilong and the caps never fall off anymore

The black residue is plastic and lube. the lubricant actually eats away the plastic little by little. some cubes I prefer without lube so I don't clean them as often, but any puzzle with lube in it I clean after about 500 solves
