Hermitcraft 9: Decked Out 2 Ultimate Victory! (Episode 98)

Today on Hermitcraft we build and design the Decked Out Tower at the Hermitsonian Museum of History and Culture. Here we will store our artifacts (or artifakes) we obtain from our Decked Out runs. Hopefully we get some from other Hermits as well! Then we take to Decked Out to complete our Phase 2 runs!

I thought it was hilarious seeing Tango climb out from the floorboards all covered in dust from trying to fix the redstone, hearing the sound system bug out, three compasses dropping, Tango asking if there was an issue somewhere there wasn't, then a fourth compass shyly dropping after that. That fourth run made me think, I'm pretty sure Tango's already made all the cards he'll make, but a Permanent Ethereal that drops a second compass at the start of your run could be really cool. Big challenge, potentially big reward.

@@patchworkgolem Yeah, it would need something like that for balance, as it could be used on an easy run to double your frost embers without much of an increase in difficulty. It would also probably work best if the shop required both artifacts to be turned in, so players would have to fully commit. On the reward side, though, maybe it could reveal more uncommons/rares in the shop than a normal run?

Usually I'm 100% TeamDungeon, except when Cub's running, then I'm 100% TeamCub! LOVE your DO Tower! Tango said something about giving an award to whoever collects a "pure" set of artifakes (Pure = not traded). He mentioned YOU (CUB!) several times while talking about this. I love the idea of Cub running Decked Out in an archeological pursuit!

Hey Cub! Pearl has been putting her cards/card list on the pre-run card (run 20, run 21, etc.) before each run to help us see what's going on in the deck. I just think it's a good idea that you could do too!

CUB you're so good at maneuvering the dungeon! You might want to take less unnecessary risks like trying that lava parkour, and you should probably swim when you're in the pirate ship area, but you MUST run hard mode if you want to win this thing! You're way too good to run medium at this point! Even though you got level 3 twice, you can get green on a roulette table twice and it doesn't change the outcome of the next spin. Besides, I think you're totally capable of doing successful level 3 runs. I'm rooting for you Cub, show the other hermits what you're made of!!!

I almost feel like hard runs are easier than medium lv2. If you're looking for a compass location in the first-half of lv2, it's so easy to get cornered by multiple ravagers. -- It seems like hard compasses are normally in the back-end ravager-free areas around the lake. As long as it's daytime and Willie isn't sniping you out-of-water it doesn't seem so bad.

Wouldn't it makes more sense to put the artifacts display underground? This give you more room to work with and you can put more multiple miniature sub area on each level. This is also more in spirit of decked out descending underground too. You can use the tower to display all the cards

Small suggestions for the Decked Out exhibit. For the level 1: I think there should be some kind of homage or something for the chat named "River of Souls". While it hasn't claimed as many as it did in the beginning, Tango has said (on stream) that he didn't expect it to be as much of a death trap as it has been. For example: half a moat around the level 1 exhibit with some soul sand on the side. For level 2: Decorating one of the walls to look like the side of Bdub's ship could be a good addition.

I would suggest you to buy some keys from the crown shop which you may take down with you into the dungeon, once you have some more of the crowns (I believe it's one of the mystery box drops). You may want to get hold of some keys in case the treasure luck doesn't stand on your side when you need a key, so you don't have to spend so much time lurking around higher levels just to get a key.

On the last run you could have looped the ravager around the pillar near the bridge and gone back into the mushroom forrest where the artefact was. Unfortunately you went back up to beginning and drew the other ravager out, which caused you to panic and try different routes and run into more ravagers.

Decked out during the day is easier than night because of one eyed willy will not target you unless you are in the water during the day.

I think hard runs to level 2 end up being about as easy as medium runs, since you don't end up having to stop in the wide-open areas of the dungeon where 2 ravagers each patrol. I think the rock Tango added is an improvement, but there's still not many places you can just juke a ravager and park it like there are in level 1. And of course the ship area just has Willie, who is usually easy to dodge while swimming.

Cub, you have done enough DO2 runs by now that you should have a barrel in your alcove to drop off all your gear before you even enter the dungeons starter room. Why leave it to chance that you are going to forget to take off your armour. Just don't have it on during all your runs. I am guessing that you do a few in a row. Also maybe Tango needs to put a coloured glowing sign in front of the minecart or in the doorway before you go to the button room.

i dont know if this is possible or if there is actually anything there, but i think you can go into the little river that steals your berries on floor 1. if you follow the river upstream, youll find a waterfall where you can start the 1 block tall swimming. swim all the way to the end to the tunnel and maybe theres a secret? maybe one of the eggs to unlock the 4th floor? theres also a secret that seems to open randomly by the left stair entrance to the dungeon that gets blocked by ice with hazard. when its open theres a little doorway with a cobweb in it. i saw this on mumbos video, but he didnt go in it.
