I became a fan of Cudeman and already bought two MT-5/fixed blades/.The fit and finish is awesome,so is the price for their quality.They all have a level of sophistication which i find irresistible.I love knives which are not only well made and functional but actually look good as well.The company offers several models for hunting,bushcraft ,'survival' and few folders.

That's the most beautiful knife I've seen in a while.

I can understand a bushcrafter wanting to carry a folder along with a fixed blade. Most folders simple are not strong enough to wood tasks but there is something charming about a folder that we like. I think it's the action. The opening and closing of a folder enchants us all. I myself should carry a fixed blade since I am concerned with self defense but I end up surrendering to the easiness of carry and discretion of folders.

Cudeman is one of the best knives brands we have in Spain. MT5, Boina Verde and Spartan are quite impressive models.
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
I will definitely check those out.

Good solid talk on folders and steel. You are a thinking person! 440c is one of the most misunderstood knife steels I know of. The key is proper heat treat... done right it is very good. The problem is it takes knowledge, practice and skill to master the process which is not forgiving if mistakes are made. I have a Boker with N695 and am very impressed... from Spain also. They say 690 is even better but I have no experience. Real good presentation!
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes it's definitely a misunderstood steel. I have several Entrek knives made by Ray Ennis, those are some of the best examples of 440C done correctly.

Taking a look at a camp folder made by the Spanish company Cudeman. This is the first knife I've ever tried by this company, which I only recently learned about in the USA.

I thought 440c used to be the super steel back in the 90's
@Vnbsm8 жыл бұрын
Everything seem to impressed you, to me the only thing that good about this knifes is the steel, n690 is better then 440c or 154cm and proven to be good out door steel even in a salty environment
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
***** It's N695 not N690. Also, I'm not sure why you would not like any other aspect of this knife besides the steel - for example the handle scales, ergos, sharpness ...
@zednotzee78 жыл бұрын
You are correct, it was. And although there are better steels available today, it's still a good steel in my opinion.

i have Cudeman fixed blade with the same shape blade and hollow grind, rubber handle, and i use it as a camp knife for batoning firewood and food prep, and it still shaves hair after one day outdoors (as long as the edge don't hit rocks or dirt). And it's just 440 stainless without "c". One of my favorite 30$ beaters

Very nice review! Good to know that there is still some nicer, well thought out folders coming out of Europe, to America. I've been interested in some of the older designs from Europe, like the Large Navajas, some of the super pointy Corsican and countrified French folders that served every role a knife could: from slicing cheese, to skinning rabbits, to dispatching foes. There isn't a ton of info on such blades anymore.

how do you maintain your swords, what do you do to care for them,also do you sharpen them and if you do would you mind Making a vid showing how you sharpen them, and if you sharpen knives show that aswell. pleasee
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
To maintain them just dry them off if they get wet, and buff them with Flitz polish and wax if you want extra protection vs. rust. If a sword does not come sharp, I sharpen it with a Work Sharp, like that Boker Xiphos sword, it didn't come with any edge at all, so I ground one onto it with my Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener.

Nice looking, but 2 things I don't think I'd like. Those thumb studs sure look like they will get in the way, and it looks like a hollow grind. That might be ok, but a knife that size you will be tempted to use it harder than most folders, and I'm not sure a hollow grind would be a great choice. It is pretty though.
@WeAllJuggleKnives6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't prefer hollow grinds either

How is the lockup? From the video seems to be quite late lockup. Don't you think it's going to develop blade play with extended use?
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will, unless you chop with it or really try to force it through things.
@ajopasoij9d008 жыл бұрын
WeAllJuggleKnives I'm kind of paranoid with blade play in liner locks, my spyderco sage 1 came with a very early lockup out of box, after 1 year and ~3months of usage it's a little past 50% and I avoid using it too much because I fear having some blade play with time. Haven't even abused it at all, only used it cutting things(EDC use for the most part, carving wood a couple times). My spyderco resilience has some after 4 years of use, but I have used it pretty hard and flicked it open, has a little bit of blade play and the liner is almost at 100%

Gross. Steel liners.
@WeAllJuggleKnives8 жыл бұрын
YU hate dem so much
@Moostery8 жыл бұрын
Personal preference I suppose. Even if they are skeletonized all they do is add weight and make the knife bulkier. It also makes it look cheap. With or without steel liners, the blade would break before the handle did.
