Interesting knife! I had couple of larger Cudemans in the past!

I was gonna get the larger one but I wish they would change the steel. A CARBON steel version would be awesome ....The stuff they are using I'd basically Aus8 but feels a bit softer to me. It does sharpen pretty good just wish it was harder stuff now that I've used it more.

@@airiksknifereviews9548 I think they said it was MOVA 58 hardened to around 56. I have the big one. I like it. I like the 5+ finger handle. Very deep blade. And the bow drill bearing block is a very nice touch. But the steel is very soft at 56 HRC. I would instantly buy one in a better allround steel. It holds an edge better than AUS 8 Under heavy use but is softer and easier to sharpen. For how easy it is to sharpen it holds an edge pretty decently for the price I think.

Great video! I like how you demonstrated how well it cuts. I'm deciding between this and another Spanish knife...the Joker Erizo. I would like to horizontal carry but both have leather vertical sheaths and I can't find any kydex for these knives. I subbed your channel. You should produce more content if it fits your life. You're good at it.

Hi, I wanted to know if based on your experience it could be a good compact survival knife? Is it sturdy and durable in use? Are the finishes of good quality or can you see by eye that there are some inaccuracies such as asymmetries? let me know what you think, regards Michele

The knife is built excellent it's very clean . As for a compact survival knife, that comes down to user experience. If it's paired up with a large knife, it would make a great small game blade for gutting rabbits and stuff. I find the handle to be just a bit too thin for power cuts in my large hands. If you have small hands, it would probably feel much better. I think if you paired it up with the larger version, they would make an excellent survival team. This little guy by it's self is an excellent neck knife for small tasks, but to survive, I'd definitely want another inch of blade.

Bought mine on Amazon only 52 dollars free shipping. I was surprised by the price. The refinishing was excellent came razor sharp.

Yeah I was surprised with their quality control, very clean work. I want to get the larger version to pair with this one. Also Joker knives has the same quality and more Bushcraft styles with good steel 14C28N, same stuff Mora uses on the Garberg. They also use k720 Carbon Steel, I've never used that steel, Casstrom uses it on their Bushcrafter forest #10 knife.

@@airiksknifereviews9548 well I did buy the Joker Avispa and although it’s not a bad knife and great steel I dont think it’s as comfortable as my cudeman Sanabria 2. Also the finishing on the knife is less refined. Definitely wouldn’t stop me from purchasing another knife from them tho. But the Sanabria is the winner and the more I use the Sanabria the more I appreciate the design of it. It’s just a fun knife to carry around. I relegate the Avispa to my collection of bushcraft knives.

great video… I seems like a very good knife for camping. Will you compare it with the Esee Izula II? Have you tried the Joker Erizo?. Man, this Sanabria cuts like a razor! Next on my list for sure!. Thanks for your video

I have an esee izula clone from Amazin by watchman knives . I like the cudeman better cause the edge works wood so well. The Izula is more of a game knife and good for skinning but the handle sucks for woods craft.

@@airiksknifereviews9548 Thanks for your response!. Actually, I got the Sanabria II, really like it, haven’t use it much but it is a really nice little machine. I see what you mean, I have used my Izula II for any task and it delivered, have not skinned anything because I am not a hunter, I do fish a lot but have not used to skin a fish, once used an Esee 3 to skin a Dolphin (the fish) and worked incredibly, never thought it could. I don’t have any issues with the Izula micarta handle, but I see that the Sanabria might be more comfortable for many people. The Sanabria II slices very well, and cuts wood also very well, I feel “safer” processing food with the Sanabria II than with the Izula II just for the coating on the blade and the Sanabria being a bit thinner. So many knives to choose from… I definitely recommend the Sanabria 2 because it holds just a few advantages as described, but I will keep my Izula II for ever, it is always in my pack, very difficult to choose one, at least for me. I recently got the Joker Erizo in Olive handles and I am also liking it very much, different from the Sanabria 2. Planning on getting (undecided) the Joker Campero or the Nomad 5’. Regards.

@toto29er Joker has way more options for bushcraft style knives but also steel choices. I do like some of Cudemans designs, but their steels run so darn soft . That Campero is one I've looked at also, I think the full flat version would be excellent. Their scandi grinds are a bit too small for how thick the blades are . That's the issue I have with the Garberg and other popular scandis. They work ok until ya start sharpening them. There is zero room for removing steel, and once ya do, they become obtuse. I've become a huge fan of convex edges, but they can be a bit difficult to keep a thin apex on. It takes some learning, but once you figure them out, it's really hard to go back. That Nomad looks like a great blade, and it is a convex edge. That's a plus in my book. 😉

It comes with a slight haze from their belts but I used a loaded strop with green compound to polish the edge. Its actually a good little neck knife but be careful if ya get one. The sheaths are not stitched good on the belt loop . I'd add some glue if I could go back in time. I actually turned mine into a snap loop after it broke and it works great. That steel is a bit soft but it's a great little camp knife and easy to maintain takes a good edge without a ton of work.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4KtfIdqlp6sgtE This is video that shows a bit how I reprofile my grinds. I use bubble wrap taped to my strop board and low grit sandpaper. Basically an aggressive strop method but with less of an angel to remove the higher portion of the grind and not the finest point of the apex. I can make video later but I have a disk problem in my neck. I am totally broken at the moment and it sucks BIG time. I love messing with knives and I can't do anything right now cause I might need surgery. But if I heal in a week or two I'll definitely make a video of how I do mine. The guy in that video is basically talking about sharpening a convex . You gotta be a bit aggressive and jump in fearless to reprofile a knife this way. Always try a budget knife first...😉 It works really good ya just have to use low grit and work your way up . I use marker on about a quarter inch of the blade maybe more to see exactly where I am on the blade.

@@airiksknifereviews9548 thx a lot! Hope you get well soon. I usually put secondary convex on most of my knives, but never tried it on a mora, I might try it later I usually just lay the knife on the stone and go back and forward and the motion of the hand creates a convex. I learned this watching the guys from Dutch Bushcraft Knives

@@mauricioruiz9021 Yeah that works great and if ya have the skills it's fun..DBK rocks, I hope their budget knife works out so I can buy one. That bubble wrap method works great for scandi too. I've never found an easier way other than belts but thats so destructive on blades. The strop method is so forgiving you just move at your own pace. You get a nice high scandi wall depending on your angle of approach. You should try a $5-10 Mora see how it turns out. Thanks for the great comments and watching my vids. Have fun.
