I used a variation of the pin hole when we had the partial eclipse several years ago, it worked very well. This one I got some eclipse glasses. I think I’m hooked, I’m going to order a solar filter for my 8”dob.

You can make a first surface mirror by stripping the paint from the back of a common household mirror.

Cute. Would it work if I took a magnifying glass and projected the sunlight onto a white piece of paper?

The flat mirrors shown in the video don't concentrate the light energy. In fact, they disperse it. A magnifying glass would have the opposite effect and is not recommended.
