I just returned from my second trip to Cuenca! I am still seriously considering moving there in five or six years. This time I stayed in the heart of El Centro and loved it. I think I would love living in the center of it all. But towards San Joaquín would be cool, too. Kicking myself for still not making my way up to Turi -- the best views!

Hi Amelia, JP, Xavier this Dan and Dianne we took this tour with Xavier and it was even more amazing in person. We are contemplating a move to Ecuador and Cuenca is high on our list. Notably, the feeling of a family town, one that values their time as seen in the parks and many locations around Cuenca. The tour gives you a mental navigational map so when looking at the goggle map of Cuenca you immediately remember your bearings. Thanks again, guys!
@AmeliaAndJP5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan! Hope you both are doing well! Video doesn't do his tour justice. You really have to see it for yourself, like you guys did. We had never done that tour before and we learned a lot even though we've been living here for 2 years already 👍

I love Cuenca and its surrounding countryside. Cuenca would definitely be my choice to live in in Ecuador. I've been there many times over the years since 1996. The old city is perfect for walking. It has a european feel. There are many good restaurants. The way of life is still slow-paced which is not the case in Quito and Guayaquil.

That's true, I'm from ECUADOR and used to live in Colorado Springs, It's Beautiful TOO, but the markets and prices make the difference, I pay NO Rent, Just the Food is SO Cheaper in CUENCA, with 80 or 100 Dóllars For 1 month is More than enough, But in Colorado Food is 2 or 3 times expensive, see? A taxi cost 2 to 4 dollars, depends what's the distance, over there in the States cost 5 times more

Looks like sweater/jacket weather. If I want to make a photocopy of a document, what's the best place(s)? OfficeMax, Kinko's, Staples or library? Are Zona Rosa and El Vergel in the higher altitude?
@AmeliaAndJP5 жыл бұрын
El Vergel is in Cuenca just south of El Centro so it's about 8500 feet here. Challuabamba is about 1000 feet lower and San Joaquin is about 1000 feet higher.

It's impossible to know if the altitude will affect you until you get to altitude. Cuenca is about 8500 feet so it's pretty high. You can ask your doctor just to be safe.
