Culex 3D in 3 turns | Super Mario RPG Remake | Discussion & Tips After Fight

Wanted to beat Culex 3D in 3 turns on stream. The fight is at the beginning and then about 7 minutes of after fight discussion to help others who want to complete this challenge and share my thought process approaching the fight. Fight starts at like 00:12 and goes until about 8:40. The discussion and tips are the second half of the video. I went back and watched the video keeping track of health bars. The yellow (Earth) crystal had 413 HP when Geno used Geno Flash which dealt 420 damage, so the crystal died by 7 HP. For my fight, having the booster charm rather than a feather on Geno made the difference between killing and not killing the crystal which then would have made the 3 turn victory impossible. The magic number you are looking for with the clown car barrage triple move is at least 1365 damage to the yellow crystal. If you follow the rest of the setup then that is the threshold for what you need to be able to kill the yellow crystal by the time turn 3 reaches Mario.

In theory, couldn't you get your chain high enough that u could beat him in 2 turns?

As in get it really high before the battle? I noticed urs was at 25 when u started. How high does that go and would it affect enough to make it possible?

Idk if its cause im using a wireless controller but i cant get anywhere near 100 on my super jump and idk what im doing wrong, i never had a problem with super jump in the original

Once you beat the final boss, the post-game content begins. You can rematch some of the bosses in the game, and Culex is one of them. He will be in 3D during this rematch.

About that it only shows up after EVER OTHER POST game boss dies and the Lazy shell armor is nearly useless against every SINGLE one in fact while MOST of 3D Culex's spells the Lazy shell will make them take no damage at all its WORST attacks ie the Meteor spells will do the full damage. In fact if nobody has full HP after Culex's 3 to 4 turns to Meteor Countdown instead of leaving the current party with ONLY 1 HP left it will just KILL them instead so you MUST have full HP once that countdown hits zero its ONLY AFTER the 4 Crystals are killed it will no longer use Meteor and only use a single target BLOCKABLE 9999 damage hit once the turns timer hits zero. But good luck surviving Culex even with the Lazy Shell armor on Peach even at the games max lv of 50 as long a all 4 Crystals are standing 3 D version only for its 2D version the Lazy Shell armor on Peach means she will never die but while the 2D Culex CAN run out of FP that's impossible since the 3DS rematch his FP is Infinite so that only the 4 Crystals for the rematch can run out of FP. But for the 3D fight Meteor is still USED on its first run and if 1 of the 4 Crystals uses Petal Blast in 1 turn it will kill your first 3 party members before you get a SINGLE attack off.

@@Otter325 To add, since it may not be as obvious, once post game begins: - Toad gives you a Stay Voucher for Marrymore - Go to Marrymore and stay at the inn - After cutscene, go to Tadpole Pond and talk to Mallow's Grandpa He'll tell you which re-fight boss is available. You'll have to go to the same places you fought them last. Once you defeat them, return to Tadpole Pond and repeat. Culex will be the last one available and he's available to rematch as many times as you want. Good luck and skill!
