I totally get the chaos. I just sold my house last year when my husband left me and the kids and filed for divorce. I moved out of the area to be closer to family and have more job opportunity. I handled EVERY single house showing myself loading up the kids and pets for several months and packed the house up myself. I am now in transition trying to get employment and a home soon. God is good and will see us through all our trials. Stay focused on Him.

I would love to know how you packed the house yourself? We're going to be moving soon and I'll be doing the majority of the packing. We are moving from CO to FL for a year while my husband is deployed and I still don't know where I'm going to keep our stuff in storage here or there!

You aren’t complaining, you are exhausted - mentally, physically, and emotionally. You have taken on a lot and have had to completely shift your focus and how you live your lives. You are entitled to feel all of the emotions that come with this shift!

Even if you were “complaining” a little, no one should judge you for that. You’re walking a different road then they are, and it sounds like a difficult one. If I were you two, I would be way beyond stressed out. Sending love 💕

Sadly, your home’s price bracket makes it take longer to sell. Fewer people qualify to buy in it and those who do can be very picky. It will happen, but it is nerve wracking. Prayers

You have every right to be feeling that way! Parenting is a job, being in a relationship with each other is a job, selling your house is obv a very stressful job, then you’ve got the budgeting which let’s be honest feels like a job too, pets to take care of AND on top of all that you are pumping out quality content left right and centre, the amount of time and energy that goes into filming and editing just one video is insane so I’m over here thinking you guys are legends and bloody hard workers!! You have every right to feel OVER IT!

The people who say you are complaining 🙄 The truth is, we all walk different paths in life, and most people will walk through a debt disaster at some point in their lives, big or small. It is HARD. And the two of you are doing it with such grace, it’s honestly the best thing to witness. Also, I’ve become SO MUCH MORE AWARE of my spending because of your channel. Seriously it’s been eye opening. Thank you ♥️♥️

Some houses are hard to sell. Once the price goes up past a certain threshold the market of prospective buyers shrinks. I wouldn’t take it off the market. Just keep it on and maybe offer a bonus to the buyer’s agent. I’ve seen people offer $1000 bonus to agent (in addition to their commission) paid at closing if closing is within 60 days or 90 days or something. It motivates the buyer agents to push your house a little more.

I think it’s easier for showings if you don’t work from home! I did and had a dog. She was in a crate during the day, just made sure things were picked up before I left. Also in my contract I said only showings during the week when I was at work but anytime on weekends. That made life a whole lot easier!

Everyone’s emotions are relevant to their own situation. People would never say “you can’t consider yourself happy or blessed, because there are people that have a better life” yet they think it’s fine to say “you can’t have a bad day, or find yard work tough etc, because there are people worse off”. That’s never made sense to me.

I understand y’all. I remember in October of last year my husband moved to Texas and I had the 2 kids and our dog while working 2 jobs and the house was on the market. It was exhausting and I felt so drained and overwhelmed. I had a sitter who would come by and get the dog when I had a showing. But I cleaned EVERY DAY AND NIGHT. I went to bed so sore and exhausted. I had to plan everything to the minute and then be flexible if it changes. And it was not easy when you have a 3 year old and a 4.5 year old and then you have to plan her bday party and then a showing wants to be scheduled right at the party time 😭 I was so done, but in the end I was a single mom for 3 months and we are all finally together in Texas. I’ll continue to pray for y’all ❤️❤️❤️ And Cullen I totally get it, I totally know what it feels like to have to do manual labor when it’s not something you typically do. You did a great job and it will payoff. ❤️❤️❤️

My husband works from home. He does background investigations. So we could not have anybody walking through our house. Too much confidential information so we actually moved out of our house BUT we had another house to move to. Our house was staged and sold in 24 hours. It was crazy. Never made it to the open house. Definitely not the norm. Keep the faith. You’ll come out better for all of this.
@CullenandKatie
@CullenandKatie 4 жыл бұрын
That’s similar to our last house. We had an open house planned, but ours was under contract the day after it went on the market so we never made it to open house on that one either. So we’ve never been in it this long. It’s grueling!!

Don’t change what you’re doing and take your house off the market. My husband and I did that twice and regretted it! It put us behind and ended up putting us deeper in debt! We should have just pushed through. We did ask for a 24 hour showing notice that helped. Keep going...you got this!

I’m not in any of the same shoes, but for the last 3 years I’ve been in an area that has been affected by wildfires. As a student during that time, I realized that as soon as my routine was interrupted and not knowing if classes were cancelled or if I had to evacuate, life just got stressful! You have the right to feel stressed about things in YOUR life and no one else gets to push that down, despite their challenges.

DON’T GIVE UP!!! Y’all are doing great even though it’s really rough right now. Your in the “colic” stage of life. This too shall pass. Take care of yourselves. I totally understand where you are coming from. We put our house on the market in 2017 for 6 months then took it off for a year, put it back on in Feb of 2019 and were fixing to take it off the market in August when it sold. Had to move in a rental for (supposed to be 6 mo) 7mo, couldn’t find a house in our budget. After watching your video’s we lowered our budget. THANK YOU for opening our eyes! Finally found a house, closed and now to pack and move again. We have the month of March to get moved but the landlord will list it on 3/1 so I have to work around showings AGAIN! So I feel your pain and although it’s a pain in the rear we will make it and so will you. Instead taking your house off the market, make the showings to your schedule. Maybe do the 24 hour notice or make it NO showings on maybe say Tuesdays. Look at all your showings and see what days you had the least amount of showings. Still praying your house sells soon.

We sold our house last summer. The day of our first showing, it was a torrential downpour- nasty muddy yard, a small river running down the driveway, our chicken run was a practically swimming pool, my kids tracked mud into the house so I had to wash the floors again. But the worst thing was an hour before the couple was due to show up, water was getting into our basement in 4 spots! The water heater was suddenly leaking (which we replaced the next day to a tune of $600 😫) and the other 3 spots wound up being from erosion caused by us removing bushes along the house. Thankfully our floors had never been done so I was just sopping up water from concrete & blowing some fans we borrowed from a neighbor but it was crazy!

To touch on the people comparing someone else’s bad day to their own.....everyone’s worst day/worst thing that has ever happened to them is just that...their worst thing. It’s hard to comprehend, but someone who lost their job might experience the same grief/stress/feelings as someone who lost a loved one. If the worst thing that has ever happened to someone is that they lost their job (very stressful), it’s ok for them to feel sad, angry, stressed etc. Everyone just needs someone to hear them and validate that it’s ok to have a bad day and that you’re sorry they’re going through that.

People need to understand that if they want the “ real and authentic” Cullen and Katie that it comes with honesty and vulnerability. Every time people start making you feel insecure about that they will start seeing the fake sides because you’ll feel like you have to do that to establish boundaries. If you want REAL than you need to be able to ACCEPT REAL.

Ok I’m 11 minutes in and you have hit so many valid points! Starting with how having a hard day -then another person trying to “win” the bad day contest, that was never up for discussion... second showings are hard!!!! My house went on and off the market twice in 2018 (due to a horrible realtor) and even though I said I needed 24 hour notice people would show up when I walked in the door at the end of the day (or worse when I just got back into town) with 5 min or zero notice, then complain that I was at the house, after my realtor asked me to show them the property?!?!

Hi guys, it's funny about you guys talking about the Birthday's Parties because I'm Venezuelan and for me YOURS Birthday's Parties are Small, haha, In Venezuela every Birthday is in an Party Salon, with sitting arrangements as an wedding, a catering, or at least a server and a cook, clowns, the big piñata, I mean is crazy, but I grew up with that and I see it so normal, now I live in Spain and the kids party are like there in USA, but my sister and I we tried to make my niece birthday as in Venezuela, my sister had spent 1000€ in one party, and for here that's excessive, this years is "low key" but she had spent already 400€ without the food... my thing is don't beat yourself for what you did in the past for your Kids, they will remember those party with love, and what's is not normal there is very normal in others countries. is you're curious check out @respoteriacreativa on Instagram, I mean what they do is OVER the top, just a small group of people can afford their cakes, but they show the parties and that's is what normal in Venezuela.

my advice: take it off the market and resist it in summer. that's when most people move

Depends on the area. I'm in a university town, so the market gets busy starting in March, when residency matches are announced, and run through the summer.

LilMrs Starr Yes, it does, but it’s so much more rewarding when you do it yourself. But the sore muscles & blisters do stink!

Congrats, congrats, congrats on completing your get current goal. Way to do it!! Keep going. I’m with ya. Why do folks have to one-up each other? It’s not a dang competition. Sheesh. 🤨. Complaining is one thing.... explaining is another. We all need to vent. If talking to my friend I’m probably gonna explain and complain. It’s human nature people.

Omg I know how you feel Katie! We moved last year and our house was on the market for only two months, but I was by myself as hubby had already started new job. It was so hard emotionally and I even had the 24 hr notice listed but realtors never follow that rule. You feel terrible though when you have to say no to a showing but I had to try to keep the best stability for my kids. (We had people wanting to view the house at 8 pm which is bedtime for us)

I've never sold a house so I can't imagine how stressful it must be. moving is stressful without having to do all that good luck with everything and just know your allowed to Express your feelings without apologizing or explaining yourself.

We had 5 different people come see our house in one day. The AC went out that morning. We felt the same way that you do. You want to sell your house but it is very hard work. So stressful.

Your just venting and that's ok. No need to apologize. You are doing two manager things in your life right now trying to sell your home and fix your budget. Pat yourself on the back. 👏👏
