At 33 years old my best friend went in to the OB to verify her pregnancy. During the exam they found a lump in her breast, the next day had a biopsy and she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She was not quite 8 weeks pregnant, they immediately scheduled a double mastectomy, and she was on chemo her entire pregnancy. Once she had the baby she immediately started radiation with the chemo. I'm happy to report she is in remission now, and has been cancer free for about 3 years. Everyone please know this can happen to anyone, do your self exams and see your doctor for your yearly checkups. Thank you so much Cullen and Katie for allowing this outlet to bring awareness and a way for people to donate to an amazing cause. Much love from Marysville Washington.

I don't get how people were saying she wasn't ready! Cullen and Katie both said she was starting to reject the diapers and getting annoyed with them, which is a pretty clear indication of being ready.

Exactly! I think just bc she had a few accidents and is still pretty young people thought she wasn't ready but Gaines has always been advanced at almost everything.
@flj7
@flj7 8 жыл бұрын
Katie Barrera Accidents are just part of potty training! I think some people assume "ready" means that the child identifies their need to go immediately and acts on it. It takes a lot of work from both the parents and the child to get toilet training down solidly.

Our convo last night: Fiance: " We can't watch the game Saturday because of your friends wedding" Me: "ROLL TIDE BABY" Fiance: "You need to stop watching that bama couple right now." Me: "No way they are my favorite!" Fiance: "I'm not marrying you if you cheer for bama" Me:"Ok Fine, Woo Pig"

My partner of 18 yrs died four years ago from breast cancer. Diagnosed stage 4, she fought it off five years. Her PET scans came back clear. She was dead three weeks later. A single cancer cell got into her spinal fluid, and it smothered her brain that fast. I don't sugar coat it telling what happened. People need to know how cruel this disease is. Please donate! Thanks Cullen and Katie.

I just ordered my sweatshirt! It feels good to be able to donate to such a great cause. Thank you for asking all of us to be a part of this with you guys. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer February 2014. Today is the 2 year anniversary of me finding out I was in remission! No matter what type of cancer it is, when you hear the "c" word it is life changing news. My prayers are with everyone who is fighting this battle right now, as well as the family members who have lost a loved one.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer (the very bad kind) in 2013. She is only in her 40s. She had a double mastectomy and chemotherapy to follow for quite a few weeks. I am happy to say that she has been cancer free for three years and is doing great. I pray everyday that God will keep his healing hand on my mom. I don't know what I would ever do without her. This is one of the scariest things my family has ever had to go through. I will be wearing pink every day all month long in support for my mom and anyone who has/had breast cancer. This cause is very close to my heart. I am only 26 and will soon have to start being checked every year for possibly any signs that I have developed cancer, and I have an 18 month old daughter as well that will have to be checked sooner than later. Cancer is such a scary word!

Idk if you guys will see this but both of my grandmothers are breast cancer survivors. My mom had breast tumors but thank goodness they were not cancerous. I sadly carry the gene and this past year my brother was diagnosed with festival cancer. Christmas Eve he went for a biopsy and we found out that it came back. So after having his tragical removed he had to go through chemo. During his time with chemo I suffered for really bad anxiety and depression. I couldn't get out a bed and cried but I didn't know why. Thank you guys for all that you do and the smiles you bring to mine and everyone else's face! You guys think you do so little but the after effect is truly amazing. Thank you for being here for me and everyone else!

Very, very cool of you guys to be a HUGE voice for your friend's cause. I love the "real men wear pink" slogan, too! My son is on his school's 7th grade FB team. On the 8th grade team, one of the mom's has breast cancer & all treatments have failed. There is an experimental treatment that is going to be her last effort to heal, but it is VERY expensive. The school decided to run a fundraiser for her at one of the home games. They had a bake sale at the concession stand, had multiple raffles going & of course donation boxes. All of the kids decided on their own to "pink out" the stadium for that game. I was never more proud of my son than I was that day. He is such a "boy" & to see him wearing the brightest pink shirt we could find & asking for extra money to donate, just put a huge smile on my face. Real men DO wear pink.. & I'm glad he's learned that lesson at such a young age. I broke down in tears when I went to pick him up. The team playing were all wearing pink socks & there was a sea of people exiting the stadium, men, women & children of ALL ages decked from head to tow in pink. It's amazing what a community can do!! I wish you guys the best of luck in this fundraiser. I hope it EXCEEDS the $5k mark & surprises us all!

My mom is a Breast Cancer survivor she went through such a hard time as all sufferers do. It was left to me as a teen to care for my younger siblings. It affected me alot seeing her go through so many operations and pain and how just a simple cold knocked her off her feet. I stopped eating and lost alot of weight. My aunts have also suffered from different cancers. It leaves me worried for my future with my own children. Cancer is an ugly ugly disease and it discriminates against no one! It's close to my heart as well. My mom got it in her left breast in 2008 and went through all the radiation and chemo and they found it in one lymph node. She was proclaimed cancer free for 15 months and then it came back. They took an MRI of her back because she was having pain and my dad said that she might have a herniated disc. She had one but that is not all. It was all over her back and spine. That was in April of 2010. In July 2010, she received her first chemo treatment but that was also her last. In August 2010, her doctor called her and my dad in and took their hands and said that the cancer has moved to her liver. Within days she was hospitalized because she got so sick. Thirty days later she went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 11, 2010. It is my dad and my two older sisters and I left and I couldn't be more grateful that I got to spend the time I had with her was what I will never forget

My mother just got diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time a week ago and this time it wasn't in her breast it spread to her bones and blood so now it's in her sacrum. It's hard because she was so happy that she survived it the first time and now to find out she has it again and it's in her bone there's not much the doctor can do if it spread to her bone. It's sad because ever since she found out a week ago that she has breast cancer again it's been hard for her to sleep because all she thinks about is if she's going to be here next year and I hear her crying loudly and all I hear her say is "why me, why does this happen to me, I haven't done anything to deserve this" When I hear her say that I just break down because I'm only 19 years old I'm not ready to lose my mom yet and I had a son 4 months ago and I don't want him to grow up without a grandma. My mother has already had cancer 3 times and it's depressing to find out that she has cancer for the 4th time.

This month is important to me because my Grandmother passed away from breast cancer, also this is Dysautonomia month as well and I have an autonomic system disorder that leaves me pretty much home ridden. Fighting for better research and cures is important to me for both these illnesses, I would never want anyone to go through this. Positive thoughts to anyone who is suffering from some sort of illness. You aren't weak because you cry or have trouble doing things. You are strong for fighting because that takes more strength that most people can imagine.

I feel so bad about what happened to Gaines at school. I used to work for a Daycare/Preschool program. I was the lead teacher for the Toddler's 18 months- 2 1/2 years. We had a Toddler preschool program from 9-12pm thus some kids came half day and others full day. If we had a child who wanted to try underwear for the day we would give them 3 strikes and then out then we would put on a pull-up. They should have put underwear back on her, the last thing you want to do is embarrass or traumatize a child. I am sure they meant well but I still feel bad.

That is what I'm doing for my sister it's all I can do for her right now. Thank guys for raising money together will stop this horrible cancer in America and in Australia 😊👍🏻

Breast cancer awareness is very near and dear to my heart, as well. My grandma was a survivor and I had a scare myself about 7 yrs ago. I have done some fundraising myself and always try to support breast cancer awareness. Thank you for doing this! Can't wait to wear my shirt.

I have several people in my family that are survivors of breast cancer but I lost an uncle to breast cancer because he felt the lump but thought men could not get breast cancer so he ignored it until it was too late. Moral of the story is men need to check as well. God Bless you and thank you!

My aunt had breast cancer many years ago. She was treated for it, had a double mastectomy, and was something like a couple months away from being in remission. Went to the doctor for an MRI, cancer everywhere. Even in her brain. She just gave up completely. She didn't see the point in fighting for a few more months of agony. Cancer sucks.

My grandma just won her battle with breast cancer. She was fighting for 34 years on and off. She passed away September 24th around all of her family. To us my family we think she won. She is with her husband and son again:) my mother is trying to find an organization to donate to after my Gmas benefit is over. This is amazing:)

I want to say a personal thank you for raising money for the American Cancer Research Charity. I live in the UK & a friend of mine who is 29 has just received news she has terminal breast cancer. When she was first diagnosed she was pregnant, & she held on for as long as doctors would allow but her 5th & final little one (a baby boy) was born by emergency C - Section at 33wks. During her pregnancy she had to go under general for various procedures under the watchful eyes of midwives. As soon as he was born she had a full mastectomy & removal of lymph nodes, began radio & chemotherapy, & travelled back & fourth with her husband to see their son as well as her husband take care of their 4 children at home. She got the news she was in remission which was short lived after finding lumps in her scar tissue, it had spread, & is now untreatable. My heart breaks everyday for her. Her youngest has turned 1, Shes writing memory books for all of the children as well as buying special cards (big

birthdays - 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th etc, wedding cards..) as well as preparing photo albums for each of them. She's also bought each of them a build a bear with her voice recorded on them. She's finally told the eldest 4 why she's poorly, & they don't quite fully understand but the eldest grasps it the most (8). All she ever wanted was to get married & surround herself with babies..& now she won't live to see them grow. My family & I will be donating to a place of her wishes here in the UK in the near future. Somewhat selfishly I find it difficult to know what to say, but by god she's a strong young woman. Please don't forget that men can suffer breast cancer too, & it's of importance all men also check themselves. Thanks to everyone that donates & I will also be donating! Laura x

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer about 5 years ago. Thankfully she just had to have surgery, but she still has "dormant" cancer that will one day become "active" it's just a waiting game. So because of that every year my sister and I put pink in our hair to show our support and raise awareness
