A good portion of my family has been lost to The Cult of Tr*mp. I was shocked when I went to my parent's house to visit. Every single room had Tr*mp merchandise- from the throw blanket on their bed to the coffee cups they drink out of to the pens they write with. My parents have voted in every election but they have never ever had one single sticker from a politician. My Dad used to tell me "We are not 'fans' but rather constituents who vote them in and vote them out. " It is disturbing how they have changed, not only their ideas but the way they perform those ideas. In many ways, they are indoctrinating themselves by filling every room with Tr*mp gear and only watching one "news" station. Even if they did change their minds, they would have to throw away boxes of Tr*mp items that they invested capital in. That alone makes it difficult. At this point, the only way I can have a relationship with them is to act as if they are sick. It helps me maintain empathy as well as my distance. I do my best to steer the conversation away from politics but it is almost as if they have nothing else to talk about. Tr*mp Thinking has perforated all aspects of their lives and by extension mine. I am thankful and simultaneously heartbroken about living in another state. I did not visit this year. I couldn't justify spending the money and my children did not want to go which is upsetting because I want them to want to share time with their grandparents. But I understand. The energy in their house is tense and stressful plus they tie every conversation to politics which isn't something preteens and teens want to talk about all the time. They refused to come to their oldest grandson's graduation OR Eagle Scout ceremony because we live in Portland, OR and they refuse to spend money in a liberal city. My son was heartbroken and upset because afterward my Dad asked him to come to his property this summer to help him work. My son declined. Sad for families and worse for our country. Thank you to everyone on this thread for sharing and listening. It is weirdly like therapy. ♥

I’m sorry for you, it’s a dilemma.You are more compassionate and tolerant than me. My family all support him. We aren’t close, anyway but it was really the last straw for me. and it’s not that we have a difference of “opinions” or “politics” that I cut ties. It’s a difference in “Morality and ethics”. That kind of thinking causes great suffering and it’s life threatening for my friends who are LGBTQ, Muslim, Hispanic, Black, women, children, veterans, and everyone he demonizes and insults so people can blame them for their problems. My relatives claim they aren’t “political”, they don’t seek personal growth or learning, and they just vote Republican down the line and consider themselves “conservative”. Hate crimes have gone off the charts, along with guN VIoLeNCe. I have to wonder if these Republicans ever consider the future for our children and grandchildren. I just don’t have the tolerance for “willful ignorance” and I can’t have my kids around the toxicity and racism they promote. You may not be into “politics” but politics is into you and every aspect of your life so vote smart, because especially now, our lives depend on it. I consider us on tHE brink of “facism”. If you watch Hitler rallies, people loved and adored him, and swooned over him at his rallies, even turning in their friends and neighbors, sentencing them to death. I cried all night after the eLectioN. His supporters mock “liberal tears” and find it amusing its a bully mentality and he’s brought out the worst in humanity. He’s a corrupt, toxic, lying, self serving, repulsive, pussygrabbing, fascist, traitorous, threat to our national security, the country and the world. I’m so astounded 70 million voted for him twice, it’s made me lose faith in the citizens of this nation. We may never fully recover from the damages and carnage he’s inflicted. It’s tragic. and those classified documents are still at his REsORT! We officially entered the twilight zone when he walked down that escalator.HE belongs in prison.

Here's what I don't understand about this cult mindset in general but about Trumpists in particular; These people are all aware of the laws in this country, as well as the basic social norms and expectations that apply to all of us, and that, as Americans, we all agree to follow and operate under. My question is, how is it that people who, just yesterday, were living by these rules and norms and were condemning dishonesty, unlawful activity, defrauding people, speaking ill of others, physical violence, racist acts, Russian ideology, etc.. can wake up today and not only be suddenly okay with all of those things but (as with the insurrectionists, for example), also be perfectly willing to actively engage in those very activities? At what point do they take a step back and say, "Wait a minute.. this has never been okay with me. What am I DOING?" Or do they just deal with the dissonance and carry on against the principles, judgement and behaviours by which they have lived their entire lives, up until that moment?

thanks--it may not seem like it, but something like this epidemic of Trumpism doesn't just culminate in a few years or weeks. i just said last week in a post that i was a teen in the early 1980s, and that was when a change of attitude for the worse began. there were various factors, however, David Icke tried to get through to people for over 30 years that it has all been orchestrated and it's why JFK was assasinated in 1964. things have gotten worse and worse since then, right? however, they banned Icke from his YT channel in spring 2020 mainly because he has known the technocrat cult's plans more than anyone and Trump has been one of the paid actors of it. about the first thing he said after banned was, "they are under their spell now, meaning all those who have also been sucked into believing the covid madness, which was the latest attempt at what's been known as Agenda 21. the masks were just to dehumanize us further, so, Trump was just another faze in the agenda effort, and obviously in the last two years it's clear many have been under a very trance-like state, and part of the reason has been even trying trying to change brain neurons--what else can we expect when some have been foolish enough to let someone put a microchip in their hand? in other words, the Bible does actually predict all this was coming, but you need people who know how to interpret it properly. i'm not evangelic, but i was at an anti-vaxxer rally last summer and one evangelical guy told me part of about the 'demonic influence' can be found in the ENOCH section. just saying, however, maybe look for one of David icke's most important books called something like: "Everything you wanted to know but where never told. he's gone on to knew themes now but has over 20 books written about the technocrat cult.

Dr. Hassan, you dimbulb, Barack Obama was not born in the United States. FWIW, former President Obama was born in the Hawaii Territory. This is not part of the Americas and was not at the time of his birth a state within the United States of America. The United States grew to engulf Mr. Obama's birthplace, if you like. thanks Jan--i don't know if it helps you, but i've had one revelation in the last two years were one doesn't have to be Jewish to belong to the Zionist club, which is why Trump had been bailed out of so-called debt about four years ago by Soros and Rothschild Inc. if you look at it from when during WWI were Rothschild Inc were aloud to by up most of the Palestine land(Balfour Declaration), then we can see how there were the first 'Zionist soldiers' like Prescott Bush who was funding a well known Hitler funder who was in Europe then (Fitz Tyson), who had big money in banks and steel. i have no question Rothschild did it to secure the Zionist base which set off the warring 20th century. we traced that spelling of Rothschild which originates from Germany, so the other one without the s would be legitimate we guess. David Icke knows more about them than anyone probably, and it was the real reason he was banned from his YT channel in spring 2020. just something i've rarely mentioned to anyone--i was lied to about much by my parents, and one of them was about my Grandmother's maiden name that was Goldstone and i was always made to believe it was strictly an English name.

Dr Hassan, thank you for this presentation, I appreciate it very much. I'm at the beginning, listening as I begin to write and will continue to write and comment as the the video progresses. I grew up in a small town in eastern Oregon which was dominated by Mormons. I grew up with Mormons, and worked for and lived with Mormons as a young man. I had many Mormon friends in school. When we went to recess I hung out with the Mormon kids because they were great kids and I liked them very much. Mormons are wonderful people, the Mormons I've known in my life are hard working wonderful people but I despise the Mormon church and consider the members of that church to be victims. So my childhood was my introduction to cults and I've been interested and fascinated by cults my entire life. I'm always on the lookout for cult behavior and unfortunately it's not hard to find. I would like to know if you have any insights into what I refer to as Mass Psychosis? Is mass psychosis a part of cults? I believe that our country is in the grip of a mass psychosis right now and the Trump cult is a part of that. Am I wrong? I've been waiting for someone to come out and address this but so far have been disappointed. Thank you

Look up mass psychosis on the internet. I read the Wikipedia entry. I’m not feeling it and nobody I am in contact have expressed any physical symptoms that would lead me to think of mass psychosis. Perhaps you’re thinking of mass delusion…?

no, your not wrong at all--Trump has milked the public's desperation and naivete just like the professed Davidian type cult leader he is . Trump is really just a child, but that isn't surprising given his background and all the circumstantial elements were there to become one of the biggest con artists the world's seen. he came up haveing Norman Peal hammered into him too.

Dr Hassan has given the first and only plausible answer as to why TFGs followers behave the way they do. The saddest thing about this is that those followers- many a paycheck away from poverty have been backing TFG financially when he is a millionaire. Some of those people are intellectually impaired and very vulnerable to 'suggestion' But evn people in high office have been drawn in. It is like 'Svengali'(Trump) has had his followers in a trance like he did with 'Trilby' His three grown up kids have also been aiding and abetting their father to grift money off these poor people and had their own hands in the lucrative cash-register- they have NO CHANCE of the presidency because their name will be mud into eternity. Victims of TFG are going to need anti-cult therapy for a very long time. I really hope people trained in cult therapy will help these people. I believe, also, that some members of Congress and The Senate have also been dragged into TFGs web and are so greedy and needy they will do anything to earn TFGs endorsement. They have also become like CULT lieutenants for TFG and they will also need therapy.

I remember, as a teen, watching Hari Kristna's dance at the airport, beggin dolla's. Soon, I knew some, some were from myHighSchool class, and it's like a switch were flipped in their heads...somebody else lives there now. but, the scariest thing is, they shed any personal responsibility, about anything, and thought serving their leader "was" the reason for their existance.. and they were already forgiven, anyway.. He told them so.
@Trenchant4682 жыл бұрын
And yet I have heard Hari Krishna followers who managed to break away talk about how, through the smiles, the chants, the flowers and flowing gowns, as they stood in airports begging money and trying to get recruits, that with each encounter they were desperately hoping that the person would help them, get them away, take them with them. The people you knew are not gone-just buried underneath a cultic personality.

Some of these people are so lost and it’s become their entire identity down to drinking a certain brand of coffee, wearing certain brands of clothing, hair and beard style, what they watch, listen to…. Everything Down to becoming ANGRY if you point out a particularly egregious comment Tucker Carlson , or any opinion host on Fox News, makes. Angry enough to throw away decades of friendship and personal relationships. It’s insane.

@dondrysdale72972 жыл бұрын
yes, it's much about being 'lost', and the technocrat cult banned David Icke from his YT channel in spring 2020 because he has know their agenda more than anyone, and has over 20 books written about them. i said in a post last week that i was a teen in the early 1980s, and i saw the change of attitude for the worse then. Ickw tried to get through to people for over 30 years that it has all been orchestrated, and that the internet it's self has been a scam. Bill Gates has had an obvious special purpose of them, and the Unibomber was trying to warn us like Icke except he of used violence that only put him in jail.

Dr Hassan's message toward the end, the mostly unappreciated message that "greed doesn't work," has never been fully adopted by H. sapiens in spite of our inherent inclination to be altruistic. Unfortunately, we are also tribal. Those two conflicting aspects of human character have always been present - they are pretty much responsible, when you think about it, for all the beauty and all the horror human beings have ever created. But in a cult, the ultimate expression of both, that need to exclude and inculcate the drive for power and control, love and compassion are a weakness. I hope it is true that love and compassion can conquer our worst inclinations.

I was recently invited to a Mormon friend’s home for dinner with his family. The entire family was utterly delightful. Two of their seven children were overseas on their missions. The remaining five were polite, friendly and whip smart. I was so impressed with the kind of parenting that it must have taken to raise such exemplary children that my respect for them only grew. Any cliches or misconceptions I had about Mormons simply disappeared. I feel like I made six new friends that evening and I cherish that experience.

"Two of their seven children were overseas on their missions." thats a cliche right there that many of those subjected to them would wish stop.
@ruthcassidy60522 жыл бұрын
I know I'm coming late to this (dinner) party but I just found this channel and felt the urge to respond. While most individual Mormons and their families are usually delightful, polite, etc., that's because they're not on the "inside" of that so-called religion. I doubt most even have a clue as to the true origins and early days history. They believe what they believe because that's all they've ever known - dissent and questioning are not welcome. Even if I grew up in Mormonism (LDS) I'd still personally have a problem with any 'religion' that requires me as a female to aspire to nothing greater than marrying and churning out babies. College? A career? Hah! No, woman, stay home and have babies - let the menfolk take care of the Important Things In Life. Pfui.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the maelstrom of absolute belief in a cause which is the aims of cultism. You believe wholeheartedly that you are part of a common cause, that you are convinced it is the right thing to do. It almost gives your life a meaning a justification but in actuality, you are gradually being drawn down the rabbit hole, manipulated by those you believe to be honest and trustworthy have in fact harnessed your mind for their nefarious aims at total control. Be warned, I woke up and smelled the coffee!

right, but Trump is an example of a sociopath who has been milking the weakness of much of the public who don't have the self-esteem to cultivate their own minds, and it has also had much to do with many these days 'looking for someone to believe in', which is a symptom of mediocracy mostly created by technology.

The silent majority has to speak up loudly and publicly. Follow the German example: Since three weeks millions gather on the streets speaking up against a far right extremist party that wants to destroy our democracy. You're people also gotta be visible on the streets (without violance of course, crazy that one has to say things like that after jan 6th...)
