Two things. 1). I surprised Austin isn’t on the list. That WM 18 match with the rock was originally planned to be Hogan Vs Austin and Steve didn’t want to do it because of the history in WCW. 2) I’d be skeptical about Hogan mending fences with Randy also if it was just Hogan word on it but Lanny had came out and collaborated the story also. Steve was just mad he didn't get to wrestle him in wcw, so when Hollywood cameback Austin tried to big league him as a FU which turned to bite him in the ass, while hogan became the main event of maina & the world champion Austin was stuck in midcard feuds with Hall,Flair & Eddie. 2. Don't take hulks word for it but take Randy's family since they confirmed it, I doubt they have anything to gain from cooperating hulks story.

Jesse Ventura was right to ask for better conditions for the wrestlers and better compensation when they were done with their career. Mad respect to Jesse for that. Also his idea would later come true although sadly through the death of Chris Benoit and the concussion retirement of Christopher Nowinski.

I agree Jesse was right and his intentions were good but you also have to look at it from Hogan’s standpoint. When you unionize a company everybody gets paid the same rate. @@Ijustinsultedyou People forget too, wrestling isn't a normal business. It's showbusiness. The people involved get rewarded for the personal risk they take making their dreams turn in to reality. Hogan got great reviews for his cameo in Rocky 3, took his earnings from it and promoted Hulkamania all on his own dime, no back up. Vince saw how great Hogan was doing with it so saw the possibilities of how well he could do with more support, and the rest is history, they both banked on a winner by working with each other. Hogan did more to exponentially grow wrestling in the 80s than anybody. He bet on himself and made his own luck.

Unions can be a great thing, especially in skilled trades, factories, grocery stores etc. But it’s not a good thing in a pro wrestling company where it’s based on individual success. In that circumstance a union would take money away from a guy that’s working his tail off 300 days a year cuz he’s the top draw in the company and it can also give money to someone who’s not working as hard to earn it, that just shows up for a squash match. As a union worker myself that’s the one and only gray area where I would say a union would not benefit the men and that’s in a professional wrestling company. I can see why Jesse Ventura wanted it, he wasn’t a featured attraction and he didn’t draw any money. If he would’ve been successful at bringing a union in to the WWF can you imagine that the Brooklyn brawler and Hulk Hogan are both earning the same amount of money. I side with Hogan on that
