Well-known fun fact: The Brawl for All is mostly responsible thanks to JBL saying he was the legit toughest man in the locker room. Imagine if he went on to win it
@NuMetalfan19963 күн бұрын
Vince, JBL, Hulk Hogan, 90’s Shawn Michaels, 00’s Randy Orton, Hardcore/Bob Holly They were the biggest known bullies and hazers in the lockeroom. In the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s, the WWE locker room was a frat house at times, they would also haze young wrestlers or newbies to WWE to toughen them up or to see if they are tough enough. Booker T says to his students at his ROW promotion that if you can’t make it in the Lockeroom, then you can’t make it in the ring. Since the 2010’s however the WWE locker room is a lot different now apparently in that it’s more relaxed as it’s less carny and traditional. JBL and Hardcore Holly were the two hounds of the locker room in the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression era to young wrestlers or newbies to WWE. When the Public Enemy arrived to WWF in 1999, they had a match on Raw with APA and APA were very stiff with them, the APA basically shit canned the Public Enemy out of WWF. Brian Kendrick said that JBL would do weird stuff to the younger guys and tried to haze him as well, basically trying to scare or intimidate him to see if he’s tough enough to be in the locker room. Then no one gave a shit anymore about JBL after Joey Styles had enough of JBL and knocked him out, fucking Joey Styles of all people. I think RVD said in an Interview that “How do you recover after getting knocked out by small Joey Styles?” You don’t. Bob Holly was another hazer, Luke Gallows said that when he was young in the WWE lockeroom a veteran screamed at him and kicked him out of the locker room as a hazing thing, he said it on Jericho’s podcast and Jericho immediately knew it was Bob Holly and Gallows confirmed it. Bob Holly went really stiff on Tough Enough 3 with Matt Cappotelli (RIP), was stomping and kicking the shit out of him and Matt was busted open hard way. Bob Holly was really reckless there with Matt. Matt would retire just a few years later, he sadly died in 2018. The SmackDown lockeroom in the 00’s were rough for the young guys, because you have the hazing hounds in Bob Holly and JBL, the locker room leader that no one wants to piss off in Taker, and the firm tough guys that were nice but if you rubbed them the wrong way things could get nasty in Eddie, Benoit, Booker T, Regal and Finlay. Where as the Raw locker room back then was different, all you had to worry about was a young juvenile frat boy like Orton.

I of my friends was wrestling for a independent company. Unfortunately someone did a top rope move wrong and now my friend has been using crutches for the last few months. Probably won’t be able to wrestle again. The clique should have been more helpful rather than aggressive and ignorant
@Leanzazzy3 күн бұрын
Vader wasn't bullied. He was a bully himself and was literally fired from WCW for his bad attitude. I love how this creator "conveniently" doesn't mention that Vader was known for being very stiff and not pulling his punches, and was also known for being unsafe and dangerous to work with. On top of that, he was filthy and never washed his gear, with most of the locker room complaining about it. Bret Hart, the UnderTaker & Shawn Michaels didn't like him or want to work with him because he was so dangerous. If all 3 of those guys could collectively agree on something - then you know that that person is the problem. During a house show in Tulsa, Vader was being stiff with HBK and yanking his hair, when HBK finally had enough and warned him that he would get Vader fired if he ever pulled his hair like that again. That was what reduced Vader to tears, because he realised just how much power HBK had. Unfortunately at SummerSlam, he did not improve and botched some spots, which led to the famous video you see today. He wasn't fired immediately after that. He went on to have a bad feud with the UnderTaker and some other bad matches, before finally being released. He was already on his way out, but fans love to dogpile on HBK because it's easy to and he's the only person who accepts and repents for what he did, rather than maintain the same attitude, such as Bret Hart or the UnderTaker.

I still feel sorry for Puder. They had Kurt shoot on him on SmackDown and the kid wanted to make a name for himself, as I think anyone would have. There's more to it than that, Puder went into business for himself, it was never meant to be a shoot. Then in the buildup to Royal Rumble, he went around bragging that he was in the main event. The Puder situation, to me, is entirely at the feet of Angle - if you're going to offer a non-scripted shoot (which was an opportunity for the Tough Enough kids to earn some small modicum of crowd support), and then find yourself on the wrong end of said shoot, you can't blame the other individual (Puder). Particularly if you're the 'Olympic hero' and the 'best wrestler in the world'. Additionally, I'm SHOCKED that Vader didn't destroy Shawn Michaels. But, if what Jake says is true (Jake is nothing but brutally honest, it seems), he got some karmic comeuppance... Otherwise, fuck the 'Boys Club' jock bullshit that was allowed to run rampant. Making it even more galling when Undertaker lamented the 'nerdy' nature of the current locker room a couple of years ago, whinging that the boys just play video games, instead of, say, act like complete drunken/high arseholes towards your colleagues.

Nobody steals anything in wrestling, everything is fair game. If I started a wrestling career tomorrow I could come out as The Overtaker and it would be fine to do so

@@TheRealAhoy yes that is true but ric flair stole the nickname the nature boy and the figure four from buddy Rogers, that’s pretty pathetic

Yet another reasom why I don't support or watch WWE. Why would I shell out money to a company that does this on the regular to people just trying to do their jobs.

you're aware that the wrestling industry as a whole has this problem, right? like, I hope you aren't a fan of british or japanese wrestling lol.

@@jkmusingss Very true in regards that this type of behavoir exists everywhere. I in general don't watch wrestling because it's just not my form of entertainment. That said, I do have a lot of respect for the men and women who make it their job and excell at. I also just don't have time or patience for a company of any kind allowing this type of behaviour to not only happen on multiple ocasions, but lead to people leaving because of the torment.

@@lewismaclean8849 That's fair and honestly, Vince took a lot of the worst parts of the old territory system and made them worse. Not supporting him will always be the correct choice. 🤣
