I hadn't watched him in New Japan. So when I saw his match against Kenny last year I thought that Ospreay was a good heel. I figured we'd see him as a heel this year. But the way he delivers promos and wrestles, I am totally happy if he waits another year for a heel turn. So good, and a well deserved win for Ospreay

My promotion of the year is Chocopro, in being the only Japanese promotion that managed to get their belts to the right (and deserving) wrestlers without stalling on the decision for too long (or not at all). I also appreciate that this"ll annoy Jack.

Davey Boy Jr winning the Triple Crown probably deserves a mention for Most Improved. He's been a tag guy for his entire career (and often the weaker half) so a big singles title win is a massive rise in his profile.

Most underrated should've absolutely been, Gable Steveson. That match he had with Baron Corbin was probably match of the year, 7 star instant classic. That guys future is bright in WWE

I feel like people forget that the Punk & Drew feud isn't actually really just them. The whole year has had the theme of Punk v Drew v Seth, the emphasis has just been on Drew and Punk's interactions. That Summerslam match was exceptional from a story perspective

WWE (or WWF at the time) is the reason I fell in love with wrestling. I stuck through some genuinely atrocious times (2019 anyone?) and adored AEW for the first 3 years of its existence. But personally the last 2 years of WWE have been the closest I've felt to wrestling recapturing my childhood since the graps found its way back into my life. I think it's absolutely okay to extol the virtues of a wrestling promotion whilst still simultaneously denegrating those who created it, and many of those (Bruce Prichard cough cough) who still inhabit the beast. Own your appreciation of an excellent product. Choosing to act reluctantly when giving the promotion praise only fuels the tribalism, whether meant in jest or whimsy (looking at you Jack) or not.
