They’re both the heart and soul of their promotions., Both were on the first broadcast of their flagship shows, and you’ve got the spooky bollocks similarities. You could even bring in Undertakers time in WCW. “I was told by your buddies that nobody would pay to see me step foot in the ring. So I sold my soul to the devil.” So many ways to approach that match.

So they flipped things so SCSA got Scott Hall (which IMO wasn't a big deal) & Rock got Hogan......Wonder where that'd have left Rock otherwise? I always thought they should have booked The Outsiders vs The Brothers Of Destruction for WM18, but that would have still left one of Rock or Austin without a bit time opponent.

In HBK's defense, he wasn't the pill-popping Hellraiser he was in the 90s, while Hogan hadn't matured in the slightest since his 1993 departure. And ALL of his schtick during his feud with Hogan was hilarious. While Hogan has no self-awareness or comedic leanings. No intentional comedic leanings that is.

And reportedly Shawn got permission for the promos that he cut in the lead-up from both Hulk and then head of creative Stephanie McMahon, and Hogan lied and said he went too far and was unprofessional later.
