The WCW US Heavyweight Championship belt was my favorite US title and it’s my all-time favorite championship belt of all time. It’s classy and cool all wrapped in one belt. What a beautiful US Title WCW made.

Kinda surprised to see Lex Luger top the list but... that is some solid reasoning. It's also a good reminder of why he was so prominent in wrestling throughout much of the 80s and 90s; he was talented and more than just an impressive physique. That he was overshadowed by all-time greats like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan should not detract from that.

I loved Raven as a wrestler. I wish they would have done more with him. He had a very good 90s character that resonated with a lot of outcasts, however you can't always have someone winning based solely off of outside help and losing every other match.

The United States Title was created in 1975 and lasted 25 years in NWA/WCW until 2000 when WCW was bought out by WWE. The WWE has only had the championship since 2000...thats 21 years. 5 more years and your point would be valid.

1 year later and not just the title, but a lot of the wrestlers who had a chance to perform in the ring with John Cena. I mean like him our hate him being in the ring with him is a big boost for every wrestler in the mid card. I still remember how excited I was for Kevin Owens. Granted back then I didn't watch NXT or anything other than wwe main roster so I didn't know KO, but damn the first match between Cena and Owens was fire.

One error out of the gate: David Flair being awarded the US title preceded Russo's defection to WCW by a few months. It happened in July of 1999, while Russo didn't join the company until October. Yes, this was Bischoff booking all the way.

I'm surprised Ambrose is so high on the list because the only thing I really remember from it is seeing the title on him sometimes and going "oh, the title still exists." I also vividly remember one entrance where he entered with it on and tossed it somewhere before going to to the ring. Then, after the match, he didn't leave with it. I thought that even he had forgotten about.

(53:35) I never knew this was a difference in the rules between WCW and WWF/WWE. I always assumed that titles, all titles, could only change hands thru a pinfall or submission victory and could not change hands by disqualification or count out, unless it’s a special stipulation. This particular match wasn’t mentioned as having such a stipulation so I’m assuming that none existed. If the match did feature the stipulation that the belt could change hands under these circumstances, I’d appreciate the clarification.

This is an awesome video, now, imagine doing the NWA World title history (with out going back as far as 1905) that started in 1948 as Jim Crockett Sr stared promoting wrestling which is the NWA World title we know as when we hear the name.

Lex Luger at number 1 totally deserving. Having followed his career through the eighties and such. I totally remember the oddest loss being to Michael Hayes and winning it back on NWA World Wide on a Saturday Night late night night. Was just odd. Not much press with Hayes holding the title at the time, even on TBS.

In 2019, Seth FREAKIN' Rollin held the Universal Championship, Tag Team Championship with Braun Strowman AND most importantly.............................................. The UpUpDownDown championship. I think we can all agree what's the most prestigious one.
