How do we transform suffering into grace? How do we cultivate a process that allows grace to fill our lives? How do we turn anger into compassion - chaos into equanimity - separation into unity and oneness?
In the third installation of our Cultivating film series, Cultivating Grace and Transforming Suffering features Ram Dass, Jack Kornfield, Krishna Das, Mirabai Bush and friends cutting to the core of these topics through their stories and real life experiences - teaching us how to make friends with suffering - how to alter our perspective so that we can access our “wise hearts”- how we can connect with intuition which is our doorway to faith, and how we can reconcile the reality of karma and grace being one.
Cultivating Grace and Transforming Suffering provides a doorway to help access these life altering questions with wise and insightful teachers.

Ram Dass is a beautiful mirror to one's own heart. The way in which he has continued to inspire others after his stroke is somehow even more striking than when he could say so much more.

I love how when ram speaks, he tilts his head downwards before each statement, almost as if he's literally listening from his heart. this man's beauty is so inspiring and comforting. I feel myself being pulled closer and closer to god through his words⛅

Right off the bat: *Suffering brings me so close to God...* I really heard that and I'm glad Ram said it. I really needed to hear that right now. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🤍☀️🌺

Current predictions by the worlds leading researchers in nanotechnology state that nanotech and biotech will in fact provide solutions to environmental destruction and other problems like disease and death - anything that can enable us to overcome our limitations and transcend divisions and other restrictions on our wellbeing and intelligence should be actively pursued and supported.

LMAOO i always say this same thing about the strangeness of existing in corporal form, mouths, holes, eating, making love & babies. its all so trippy and wild. i have been listening to all of these talks as my gramma approaches her last round in this incarnation and they have been pure medicine.

We take in raw information from our awareness to the senses and mental formations and we convert this into our suffering. When we are aversive towards the events that occur in life we literally create suffering as a result. The way out is through seeking a type of peace that is unconditional; abandon all hopes of finding lasting joy through sensual pleasure alone

Dear JAH - I would think that deep depression can be considered suffering. But, does the depression define you, define your soul?.
@josephpotter2844
@josephpotter2844 7 жыл бұрын
no it dosent define you, think of the exact opposite of wats depressing you and thats the way to combat it, relieve hate with love,pain with pleasure,depression with joy, stop dwelling on the emotions they are second hand,do not allow em to be first hand,be gentle love you

If suffering brings a person closer to god, does it follow that a person who causes suffering is facilitating the process of getting closer to god? If so, does this imply that military personnel at Guantanamo bay who torture people are doing a service to the people who they torture?

There is enough suffering inherent in life generally without deliberately creating suffering for others through harming people in that way, which creates more karma and suffering on and on.

To be the CAUSE of suffering is totally different from enduring suffering caused by illness or whatever , that being not of your own fault.

Ultimatly yes! If you see through the vail of the appearences we call the world , all there is is satchitananda (conciousness existance bliss). The torturer is the same as the tortured and all are not. But the one who is tortured might get a glimpses of his true nature or even awaken, where as the one who is torturing will most likly amplify his own suffering. It's a paradox, but that's how is goes. 😘

+JAH “Keeper of Ziongate” RASTAFARI absolutely! I just got out of depression :D. When you get out of it you will appreciate it :D. If you want to get out of it focus on opening up your heart to god's love and have compassion for others. watch your heart every day don't let it close. you have to open it up and keep it open :D

Absolutly, here too! Unfurtunately it in itself does not qualify for awakening. That's optional and can brought about by grace (and maybe some good hallucinogenic). 😘

Hmmm? All whom I have spoken with/listened to, states awakening to be resulting from a particular amount of suffering (something tragic/traumatic,.) occurring. Even as they describe it, they subtly and not so subtly, engage in self mockery/teasing/running themselves down, , in a humorous way. I asked someone directly if they believed awakening could occur without a traumatic experience, and the person stated N O ! It is required. My experience occurred without anything bad going on. It just happened.

I see suffering as when people see humans to be proprietarily afflicted with an inefficiency (ego) distinct/separate from all other life s things/beings. This 'duality/taking sides' is v e r y competitive and inefficent as a participation in, as and of life. In old religion, they blame their fear, pain and suffering on devil/demons. In 'Spirituality', they blame mind/egos. Both are carrying out their own crusades, witch hunts and inquisitions. Can 'Spirituality' be observed/practiced without blaming anything/one?! We re allone, not broken, not needing to be fixed, perfect,. Remember? Or?

Buddhism can be distilled into accepting your lot in life. If you poison rivers from your factories but 50 years later you're still a billionaire living it up a Buddhist must accept that this is their deserved karma. you could use this religion to justify all sorts of horrible things, it isn't all lotus flowers and statues it is a slave religion.
